Installed my C&L C.A.I.
My C&L 'no tune' c.a.i. came in today. Got a little extra kick and sounds nice. Was easy to install.

I'm checking on that. I'm running a little 'rich' before installing the c.a.i. I'm going to see if it (the c.a.i.) 'leans' the engine a little.
C&L did many (dyno) test and could only get 1 or 2 more horsepower out of their c.a.i. with a tune. They told me over the phone "most people will go with the 'no tune' because of the cost for only 1 to 2 more horsepower".
Their 'no tune' c.a.i. doesn't come with a 'no tune spacer' (or something like that) like i think they did in the past. The best i can tell (a guess) they make the 'Mass Air Flow Housing' a thicker inside diameter with the no tune when compared to the 'tune required' c.a.i.

Yup, I know, but it's not optimized for the CAI.
I think Evo will update your tune for free, e-mail you a new tune so nothing to lose by getting the tune updated. And who knows, might net you 3 or 4 HP!

I guess the older C&L 'no tune' had a thing called an 'insert'. Mine doesn't.
I'll check with Evolution Performance for maybe a free up-date tune.
C&L's web site is still saying, "V-6 C.A.I. will be shipping soon, now taking pre-orders". LOL!!!
I'm going to have to get my G-Tech out in the next few days, i can really feel more power plus it sounds good too
