Red face Help me pick my new exhaust!

Hey guys, I am a few months away from buying my new exhaust for my 2011 Mustang V6.

I really want the Roush Exhaust, because I love the loud popping - but I do not know for sure what I want.

Please Help me!

My options are as follows:

Borla ATAK Axleback

Roush Axleback

Flowmaster Force 2 Axleback

Bassani Axleback

Ford Racing Exhaust

SLP Power-Flo Axleback

Pypes Catback

Stainless Works Retro Chambered Catback

Other (Specify)

I vote for pypes but don't buy theirs, build it yourself.

Out of all those the Stainless Works sounds the best IMO. The rest sound too ricey.

You do realize Ford puts the stock exhaust on your vehicle to maintain back pressure, pulling it off will in effect alter the piqué design for your stock parts. If you are going for a certain sound, why not change the mufflers instead of a full blown exhaust? I punched my cats and threw 40 Series' on, I get compliments all of the time from kids, 20-something's, and old timers from the muscle car era because of how raspy it is.

I got the borla stinger catback. Kinda pricey as far as exhausts go but really nice quality and sound. Loud. But not too bad on the freeway under 2000 rpms. Also did see some slight difference in performance. I highly recommend.

Oh yea and lots of pop

Hey man,

I have a lot of knowledge on this subject. What is it that you are trying to actually achieve from your exhaust system?

I know you said you like the popping from ROUSH, but the drone at highway speeds is actually DEVASTATING!

Hit me back, and here's mine with Borla ATAK axel-backs.

Back guys, sorry been busy with work and school.

I want the popping of the Roush, but I do not want drone.

I like the way the Roush looks, the way it looks like a round canister instead of a bath tub.

I like the ATAK because it has 4.5 inch tips instead of 4 inch roush tips, but I just love the way the roush sounds.

I don't know for sure, but the Roush seems just perfect level of sound while the ATAK seems to be too quiet.

Is that true?

Lol the borlas ARE NOT QUIET . You won't regret it. I believe ninosport.com has a good selection.

Between ROUSH and Borla ATAK, the ATAK system is much louder and much more aggressive.

I'm trying to figure the same thing out, I love the sound of the Stainless Works system in this video but I can't find any other videos to see how I like them. If anyone has this setup it would be great to hear more before I make my mind up.

My list is down to:
Borla Catback Touring or S-type
Stainless Works
Pypes Catback

Any input on these system? I'm looking to pick up some sound but not race car levels. I use the car as my daily driver so it can't obnoxious. I like the sound throaty and raspy but as far from the ricer civic sound as possible.
Not sure if that’s even possible but that would be the perfect exhaust for me.

Any comments help, good or bad about any of the exhausts.
Thanks!

If you add 'long tube headers' later on, you'll be back to square one. Even with my Magnaflow 'street series', the sound is 'almost' too loud. I'm going to live with it because i don't want to reinstall the 'heavy' stock mufflers
