Be careful with your mods, I have over $10,000 in my 2011 v6 and don't even have a turbo or super charger Here is 'Little Red'.

10k in mods???? Holy crap! Why???? I can see 6k but 10k, That's a bit silly and not supercharged!

Thinking about investing in some good HIDs. The factory headlights are good but I don't like the yellow tint. Does anyone have upgrades HIDs on their 3.7?

That's what i was thinking until one day, i got the box out i keep my receipts in and started adding things up. I got up to $8200 and saw the receipt for my Steeda Watts Link and several more to go. I stopped adding things up and felt a little sick for a little while. I never added the rest of the receipts but i know it will add to over $10,000

Oh yeah, stuff adds up fast, especially if you use a shop to do the work. A new set nice of wheels+tires can set you back $2k by themselves.
A full suite of suspension mods can run you back $2500 in parts alone. Throw in bodywork/custom paint and budgets go out the window.
I assessed mine up in my head right after getting my hood and painted stripes...yeah I was shocked when I realized I'd broken the 10k mark.

I agree that mods can easily add up, I know this first hand. Of course I'm not 10k into mods but they do add up quickly. I must know but what mods are you 3.7 guys buying and spending over 10k on and not even supercharged?

Of course spending on lots of apperence mods mods can definitely bring you up in cost. I couldn't see spending $2,500 dollars on a suspension system for a car that I drive to and from Wal Mart and Joy ride. Especially if one doesn't track race, no real point.

Wheels and tires I do understand, they can cost $2k although I'm gonna buy a nice set for around $1,200.

I'm surprised no one here has mentioned a driveshaft especially on the V6. Before you even get a tune you should get a driveshaft put in the car. I do have to agree that the Roush mufflers are a bit much on the V6, they make it sound a bit raspy and trumpety at the same time. I know that these aren't a very loud muffler but they sound pretty nice on these cars.


As far as tunes are concerned, I don't even really look at MPT unless I have an EcoBoost. That they are really good at but I haven't heard of many people running the MPT tune on their V6's. I have heard of Lund obviously as he is one of the best, Bama as they are the most widely known, and Steeda since they have been around forever.

$10k in mods? That's cute .... I think I am a little over double that amount on the engine alone hahaha. Good luck with the new car though!

Please don't take this the wrong way but you must not be that familiar with the 3.7 performance community threads or the actual 3.7 itself. If you are an owner of a 3.7 you have not been in it for very long. If you have 3 or 4 years with your 3.7, you would know that MPT is huge in the 3.7 cyclone community. I say this because MPT is the top choice of 3.7 performance enthusiasts. This is not to take away from Bama because they are great as well but MPT has mastered the tune for the mustang 3.7. Go on any of the Cyclone FB pages and majority are with MPT. This site does not have a large cyclone membership and primarily caters to the V8 enthusists.

Facebook has numerous of Cyclone 3.7 sites and thousands are on it and only people who own V6, 3.7's. I have a one piece driveshaft and its great. With that said, the OP should start out with a tune and build from there. All other mods need a tune to work properly. Start with a tune because that the brain of the cars performance

Yeah driveshaft is a must if you remove the speed limiter. But the part costs about $700 and this kid won't have any other mods left to do since his budget is $800.

So driveshaft should be the least of his worries. (Provided that he doesn't get the speed limiter removed)

Exactly, I would say get the tune first then down the road get the one piece aluminum driveshaft

My next mods are 3.73 gears and aluminum driveshaft. I'm looking at about 1500 dollars for those mods, not cheap.

I agree, I think the gt500 mufflers do sound good on the v6. This vid is the sound under acceleration, which is much better than at idle. I went with gt500 quad tips for my ecoboost project car because they sound the best for v6 IMO. These are seldom mentioned in the muffler threads for V6, not sure why not.

I bought my v6 car for $10k with light front and rear damage. I've since put another $30k in it. It happens faster than you can imagine with an Amex card with a high spending limit. I'll end up putting another $20-25k before it's finished.

I just ordered the Ghost Cam lope tune for my 3.7 and its been revised and perfected. Looking forward to getting it. Unfortunately Bama does not offer this tune for the 3.7. Gives that big cam rumble and shake like old school muscle but not the cost and install of cams. Also, when in motion, the lope immediately shuts down and you get all the performance and race shift points and benefits of the regular MPT performance tune. When stopped and idle the call rumbles with big lope

Should I spend the extra $500 to do a GT bumper swap or just get lower fog lights? I like the look of the GT bumper with the fog lights, but I'd be happy with lower fog lights. Looking forward to you guys' feedback!

I re-added up my receipts today. The grand total came to $9,267.98, so i don't have over $10,000 in modes like i originally said. I have over $9,000 in mods .
