Exhaust Project Underway

Well. I am underway with my first performance modifications for my Pony.
I ordered the BBK ceramic longtube headers, BBK x-pipe, and FRPP SVT Sport axle back exhaust.

Thanks for the info. I listened to a few of you guys and decided on the SVT Sport exhaust based on the feedback. I hope the ceramic headers and X pipe really open this thing up.

Yes. They are so new they don't even have a photo yet. edit - they are not even listed on BBK's website yet???

I really wanted to get the whole package from Borla but BBK was the only company I could find with headers for our new 3.7L. I got on the phone and worked out a compatible set of parts for the exhaust with BBK and Ford Racing. Somebody had posted here about their new Ford Racing SVT Sport mufflers (they make a Touring muffler too). Late Model Restoration is starting to sell the headers after the new year.

edit - wow! 100 posts!

Well I just got tracking information via email that the parts have shipped already. According to the website they weren't going to ship until after the new year. Cool beans.

I ordered the BBK ceramic long tube headers, hi-flo catted x pipe, and FRPP Sport mufflers in late December. I found out this week that the BBK items are on nationwide back order until at least 31 Jan

My FRPP mufflers have been sitting in the corner waiting patiently for their BBK counterparts to complete the ensemble.

The waiting is killing me but I am getting my car back tomorrow with FRPP 4.10 gears. I also have my Bama Custom Tunes waiting to be installed because they are programmed for the gears. The American Muscle free tunes for life has worked out to be a great deal because I originally ordered the tunes as if the exhaust + gears were all installed not knowing BBK would get backlogged. I can't wait to feel the change in the car after the gears + tune. I am not going to be able to sleep tonight (haha!)

Mufflers don't have to just sit, you can put them on now since they will have no affect on the fit of the headers and x-pipe and they need no tuning to work.

thanks! I might just take the advice and do that. I was actually wanting to have them do exhaust, gears, and GT valance install all at once more out of convenience. I hate dropping off the car and right now both mustangs are in two shops so I am driving a volkswagen I can't wait to get them both back so I will always have a backup Mustang (haha!)

I have back problems and tried to install the GT valance over the weekend and after about 6 or 7 plastic snaps, raw knuckles and who knows how many hidden plastic snaps and screws I gave up and put it back together. I am mechanically challenged but managed to get the decklid emblem off (what a pain) and pony blackout panel on by myself. It might be a good idea to have them do the mufflers and the GT valance while I wait on the BBK parts. I have a feeling though after I get my car back tomorrow from getting the 4.10 gears installed, I am not going to want to give it up until my Shelby is back!
