Better question.. why?
The side exhaust is not that visable. So you can't say for looks...

Not that hard, just expensive. All the holes should be there for you to mount them up. But for that cost you could just buy a nice exhaust system.

Won't do anything for performance, just sound, and I can't imagine that it would sound good at all on a V6.

If you want to do it the factory Boss H pipe wouldn't work very well, much bigger pipe size than the rest of the V6 exhaust system, you'd just have to fabricate something if you wanted to do it.

I understand a v6 will never sound like a v8, but could it not make for a better sounding exhaust note?

Its possible but id rather have a made to fit system rather than a fabbed piece. MRT, Borla, Dynomax, Bassanni, heck even magnaflow all make great systems

I can't see where adding unmuffled exhaust coming out the side will make any good sound to add to the regular exhaust sound.

Hey, try it and make sure to get a good video clip of it.

It is going to amplify the sound of your existing system, not change the tone. As others have noted, aftermarket systems are a way to accomplish a change in the exhaust sound.

I think you should do it. If you can afford it, give it a try. I'd pair it with some Ford Racing Sport mufflers or Borla S-Type.

I've been wanting to go Borla ATAK, but if I went this route, would that be overkill? I just think it'd be fun to have loud exhaust, flip a switch and make it louder....
It'll be awhile before I get the money, but I'm just thinking ahead.....I'm going to add it to my list.
What would ya'll recommend on the 'how to'. Just a catback boss setup with different axle-backs?

From what I have seen the BOSS side exhaust is not 100% open
It has a circular baffle with a small 1/8-1/4 hole in it. The design is meant for a louder than GT exhaust note with a unique setup....to do this you will just need to get a baffle made similar to the BOSS design...or buy a take off mid pipe (its where the baffle is located.

BOSS side exhaust on a V6....

The Boss side exhausts are getting pretty hard to find as well. This is treat sounding like a custom setup to me.

Edit: LOL necrothread. They weren't that hard to find back then.

The Boss System does have a plate sandwiched between two flanges with a small hole. A few enterprising individuals offer plates with different sized holes.

The Boss system also has baffles down stream from the plates. The baffles do quiet the system a bit.....Thank god, not too much.

Kooks offers a straight pipe side pipe, no baffles at all. That would be a possibility to use if you can find a shop to tap into the X, Y or straight pipes on your system.
