Smile BBK Off Road X-Pipe

Hey guys,

So i just got the bbk off road x pipe installed today. I also have the Borla S type exhaust, BBK Shorty Headers and MMR CAI. The car sounds fantastic at start, low rpms and idle.

At WOT, it's loud and raspy.

What are the solutions for that?

-Glasspacks?
-Resonators?
-Hi Flow Cats?

I don't know which would work better and take that raspyness away. But if any of you have gone that route, please tell me about it. Also if you chose any of the options above, and bought those; the product model numbers would be nice so i can look them up.

Thankyou

Put the stock mid pipe back on, getting rid of the resonators and the cats invited the rasp, might have a little bit of drone in there also but the Borla's usually get rid of that.
It is the resonators that get rid of the rasp, people with high flow cats still have the rasp.
Enjoy and good luck, putting all that back on is extra money and restricting it back down to stock.

If i can't handle the rasp, then i will put the stock h pipe back on.

But im going to dyno my car tomorrow, see what the results are with these mods.

Wanted a solution if i kept the off road x pipe on w/ either resonators or hi flow cats.

Yeah there is no drone cuz of these sexy borla s types (i love them!)

This is why I'm going to go with a catted H pipe when I eventually swap that out.

With a catted H pipe, it won't make any difference in sound or power. You should go with a catted X pipe if you don't wanna go with an off road pipe.

Not interested in power, and even video I've heard sounds significantly different with an aftermarket H pipe.

I think there's only one brand of the H pipe out there for our V6, MAC right?

Welcome to the forum! I would post this question under the 10-14 Mustangs --> 5.0 GT modifications. You'll get a lot more views there.

lol yes. there will be a lot of drone. You might wanna get resonators if you're going the long tube route.

Either resonators or a catted x pipe and you should have a nice deep rumble thats loud when it wants to be and quiet when you want it to be.
