2014 MUSTANG GT MUFFLERS ON A 2012 V6 MUSTANG

Hi, I looked and didn't see this question, if it has been asked I apologize for the redundant question.
will the stock mufflers from a 2014 Mustang GT bolt on to a 2012 V6 Mustang? I'm not looking for louder, I just like the rolled tip look better than the V6 tip. everything looks the same, what I'm not sure about is the inlet
pipe diameter.

Thank you

I've seen this question before somewhere here. If I remember the inlet pipe diameter is different. The GT over the axle pipes are 2.75" diameter. Not sure what the V6 pipes are, but I thought they are smaller. I just saw some Borla mid pipes for the V6 and they were 2.25".

Quite a few people here including myself have our stock GT mufflers sitting in boxes collecting dust. I'm afraid you'd have to do a cat-back 2.75" pipe to be able to mount them though.

Rather than spending all that money on a cat back I bet OP could have a muffler shop just weld up the GT sized socket joint which should then allow him to attach the GT mufflers.

Don't even bother with that. Just have the shop cut your stock tips off and weld new tips of your liking, on to your stock mufflers. That should be no more than $100 installed. The shop I go to would be like $50 installed.

Thank you for the info. One more question, will the GT mufflers sound different than the V6 mufflers on the V6 car? That would help decide whether I swap tips or the whole muffler.

Thanks again

If any, it will be such a slight difference that it's not worth it. You're better off putting that money towards a nice set of axlebacks, something that will add a little sound but not too much, since you don't want it loud. Something like the Magnaflow Street or MRT Street.

I put GT mufflers on my V6 and the shop had to weld the pipes but it sounds a lot deeper
