2012 V6 Exhaust Mod Question

Hello everyone...I'm needing some feedback!.I just purchased my car and I'm want to of course put Axle Back exhaust on it. I don't want to do the Cat Back, I want to keep as much of my warranty as possible lol. I've watch a ton of videos online but it would be great to have some feedback from someone that has or has had either the Magnaflow Competition, Roush or Flowmaster Force II series. Those are the 3 I narrowed it down to, and yes I KNOW its not a V8 and its not going to sound like one! I just want it to sound the best it can for a V6.

The two I would choose for the V6 is MRT or magnaflow. Both quality and sound of both are very good.

I'm not to familiar with MRT, ill check out some videos and Borla is a bit pricey so that's why I was considering the others. I like the Borlas though. I want to hear some in person so om hoing to hit up some local car shows.

I'm big fan of the ATAKs, but some people think its a tad overkill and I can't necessarily blame them. Just started checking out clips of the FRPP on YouTube, and they're definitely starting to grow up on me. Very nice sound.

Its such a hard decision!!..They certainly are not cheap and I don't want to waste money. I've listened to so many online they all sound the same now lol

You can replace everything behind the x-pipe without voiding your warranty.

That being said, the best sounding mufflers I've heard on a V6 are either Flowmaster Force II or the Mac FlowPath. Choose your axle-back wisely - unfortunately, even after listening to the endless sound bites on youtube and AmericanMuscle, the choices aren't any easier to make.

I currently have the MRT Interceptors. They sound pretty good, but I'm thinking about switching to FRPP since someone is selling them at a good price.

I'm having the same dilemma. Trying to decide between the Magnaflow street cat-back and the FRPP axle-back. First time I'm hearing the MRT tho. Decisions..Decisions

I totally understand...I'm not making a decision until I can hear them in person, $500-800 is a lot of money to waste!.

I went to check out some FRPP from some guy that was selling locally. I listened to them in person and then we listened to mine. We both agreed that the MRT Interceptors sounded better.

I must have listened to a million video's..ok maybe a couple hundred or so.....so many sounded raspy and higher pitched....the Ford racing mufflers were the first ones that had a deeper sound IMO and sounded like a race car when you got on it, but were almost stock sounding when just cruising and most important, no drone.

The biggest thing with this, is how much does drone bother you? The lower end axle backs give a lot of drone. Flow masters are notorious for this. The reason for Borlas price is not just for the exterior sound. It's the look, and the fact that the cabin volume isn't overwhelming when you're cruising. I would wait a little longer, save up the extra $$$ and go for the Borlas. They have 3 levels depending on your taste. The Touring, S-type (stingers), and ATAK. They are all made specifically for the 3.7l in your car. Touring is a bit tame for my taste, but one of my buddies has them and loves them. The Stingers are an all around favorite among members here on this forum. The ATAKs are not for the feint of heart, and will make you smile every time you brush against the throttle. They are insane! But very loud!

The choice is ultimately yours. I personally follow the philosophy of paying for quality. You get what you pay for. No doubt.

Good luck, and I look forward to seeing what you end up going with!

Borlas are great and I've heard nothing but good things about them.

One reason I chose Flowmasters is due to the fact that they are black and conceal themselves under the car. only the tips are visible even when you look at them low. The tips are attractive also.

I was never a fan of mufflers peeking out from under the car.
