Which would you choose?

I wanna tune the car sometime this summer once I put a few more miles on it. But I'm stuck between Steeda or Bama..

Which would you choose and why?

Do a quick search. There's a pretty recent thread about this same thing.

My short answer: I'm going with AM, because I'll need a lot of updates along the way. So the free tunes for life will come in handy. But I'll probably get a Steeda tune after my mods are mostly set.

Supra,

You're talking about two of the best tuners for Mustang's in the world, I'm confident you'll end up with a great tune either way. However, we definitely have a lot to offer you!

For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys. We're also part of Fords Technology Transfer Program & Work very closely with Ford to insure that all of our tunes are perfect!

Another great benefit you get from ordering with Bama, is our Free Tunes For Life Program! Anytime you add a new modification, want a different tune, want to exchange datalogs or need some revisions, will get you hooked up in just a few minutes for no additional charge.

I hope this helps your decision. Let me know if you have any questions, need some assistance or just want to chat!

Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

-Dan

Steeda has all sorts of reasons why theirs is amazing and safe. If I tuned my car I'd consider going with them first, but then I guess I don't really have an opinion. Hopefully a steeda rep will show up and explain it.

I'm kinda hoping they will chime in as well. I don't want the car running on the edge for absolute max potential, rather something safe yet improved over the stock tune. I don't like the throttle feel/response the way it is now but I don't want a ford procal either.

I'll chime in for Bama. Mike Wilson tuned my 04 Cobra when he was at Quantum in Farmers Branch, TX. He is amazing and I will not have anyone tune my car but him. He pulled 520/490 on a safe tune with a/f in the low 12's on a KB 2.4, stock motor. Power and torque were very linear and pulled like a freight train!

Mike is the man!

I trust Racers. BAMA is great but they don't race professionally . AMERICAN MUSCLE is not a parts manufacturer and they don't race. STEEDA is the most winning name in FORD performance. and Steeda has access to tech and info from Ford that no one else does.

Plus Steeda has there own 1.2 mile test track, skidpad, and everything you could possibly need to test a car st the GA facility. For me there is STEEDA and then there is everyone else.

I have a VMP tune and I get free revisions all the time. It's not just Bama that does it. Most of all the big names do it. It's just a selling point.

O.P. don't just limit yourself to those two as there are other good tuners out there. But if I had to choose between the two it would be Steeda.

They'll give you updates even if you don't buy the parts from them? I know a lot of them will do updates, if you buy new parts from them. But I don't know where I'll be buying from as the mod money comes and goes.

I've been majorly impressed with how well Bama and American Muscle have been for me in general. I liked my Steeda tune, but due to the fact that I prefer to roll with the cam tune all the time, I ended up getting a refund from Steeda. Not by choice. They did a revision to the tune, I let them know it was still stalling, so they tried something else, but it was still stalling so they refunded me rather than pursue the issue.

We just picked up VMPtuning, Justin is by far one of the best tuners in the country. We'll be offering tuning packages and performance packages soon. PM for details.

Like many of the posters have elaborated on ... there is no coincidence that we have 0 issues with our tune ... its because we know how far we can take a tune with it still being safe.

Like the posters said, do a search and see what your research comes up with, I am sure it will help in your decision process.

As far as free tunes go, we will update the tune when you purchase a part directly from us, if you need a tune revision because you purchased another product ... then no problem we can update it for a small fee.

You will learn that you probably won't be updating your tune quite as often as you think ... but if and when you do ... we can make the revision.

Let me know if I can help with any other information or if I can help provide forum pricing.

Best Regards,

TJ

Yea what happened to Brenspeed?? I don't see too many people with the newer models mentioning Brenspeed. Brenspeed and Bama were very popular with the 05-09 models...
