Whine between 60 and 80 mph

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this... I have a 6 speed 5.0 with 3.73 gears. I notice, no matter what gear, when I get between 60 and 80 mph, there is a whine that comes from the car, and then once I get up to 80 or above, it goes away. Is this an issue or normal?

Also, while I am at it, does anyone with the JLT CAI and tune have an occasional rattling noise when you get to the higher rpms? It sounds like something is loose, but can't quite figure out what is going on.

I have the MT with 3:73 and have no whine at all, so I can't help you there. I also have the JLT CAI and in the higher rpms I notice a distinct sound change in the exhaust note. I can also hear the air being sucked in but no rattling. Sorry. I know you probably already did but I would remove the CAI, check for rubbing spots and then replace. Might make it go away or lead to the issue.

Sounds like it's gonna be the rear end. Doubt if in the trans.

Other than your JLT CAI, do you have any other add-ons or mods?

The reason I asked about any possible mods is because I, too , have a noticeable whistling-type sound coming from the rear-end during speeds between 65-85mph, but I believe I know the cause of the issue. I had the upper mount bracket, adjustable upper control arm, and billet lower control arms installed... noticed sound right after. I am told that the pinion angle maybe slightly off factory spec. It won't hurt the car and may aid in increased rear grip, but as a daily driver it's kind of annoying.

Any thoughts?
