Wheel hop fixes?

What do I need to do to fix the awful wheel hop these cars have? I love the car, but this is the worst case of wheel hop in a RWD i've ever experienced

You hear this suggestion a lot...and I believe that the can help...but in most cases, folks report back that the hop is still present, if mitigated only a little.

The solution seems to reside in a number of factors and eliminating it is costly...

1.) stiffer bushings, reduce deflection
2.) upper and lower control arms, recuding reciporicating mass
3.) adjustment to pinion angle/suspension geometry- lowering and adjusting pinion angle usually does wonders

I suspect you need to do all of the above if you plan to run sticky tires and not suffer wheel hop.

The other (lame) alternative is to run lower traction rubber. The rental Mustang GT I had (with all season tires) didn't hop at all!! My BBP car hops so badly that I have never even smoked the tires up. (It's my only complaint about this amazing car).

Supra- last year I installed the Eibach spring/anti-sway bar kit on my 2011 GT...looks awesome, eliminated the wheel hop as a bonus. Just re- align when done. No camber/caster plates were needed. PM me if you want part numbers or more feedback.

It's been my understanding that the upper control arm is more benificial then the lower ones.

Umm, what?

Lcas and uca have nothing to do with reciprocating mass. And it's been reported numerous times that drs and slicks actually help eliminate wheel hop. Lcas with relocation brackets help tremendously as well.

Understsanding that we're talking slightly different setups overall, adding a set of Steeda LCAs all but eliminated the wheel hop on the '06 GT that I had. 99.9% gone. Later adding an UCA to correct pinion angle after installing a one piece drive shaft did nothing to further reduce the hop.

J&M LCA's and relocation brackets completely eliminated it for me.

Got to Capaldiracing, they have the same stuff for cheaper, and I wouldn't get those LCA's because they look just like the ones on my car and I have wheel hop issues, I would go for the tubular FRPP ones instead.

You want a BMR or Roush upper control arm. This will stop wheel hop. Doing the lowers will help but won't cure the issue.

Personally, I plan on the CHE relocation brackets and (most likely) the BMR tubular lower control arms.

If I end up hop-free after these 2 mods, I'm gonna be happier than a pig in you-know-what ... lol

I have the UPR lcas and uca with tq mount and the car feels way better and more responsive, handling it tighter, more power shifted to the wheels instead of being absorbed by the stupid rubber bushing on the stock uca. More nvh but I don't care, I have a loud radio and a loud exhaust lol
