What should i install next on my 5.0

Okay I'ma trying to figure out what to install next on my car.. Either 3.73 Gears and an short throw OR.. The Boss Intake.... I got 3.31s in it right now and I sometime miss gears so thinking the gear and short throw is the way to go but I need y'all opinion?

In that case yeah. My vote are gears. The intake doesn't do much unless You have cams etc. From What IV heard. But on the flip side, everyone on This site loves the Barton short shift...

Gears do make a world of difference in our cars. Gears are - by definition - a torque multiplier, so who wouldn't want more torque? 3.73 - 4.30 ratios are the most commonly used in S197 Mustangs for performace.

That BOSS 302 R intake manifold can give you some sweet gains with your current mods though... Plus it looks pretty bad *** when you pop hood. All you need is a few parts to make the switch, install is very simple, retune accordingly, and boom.

The boss intake is only gonna give u more power way up in the rpm range. The gears will give u better seat of the pants feel all the time.

Don't listen to those people for any advice.

This! The only issue with the Boss Manifold for this guy, is that he's looking for low end torque, and this manifold will actually take away from that.

In short, his powerband will completely shift to the higher rpms. You will lose most of your low end grunt, but will gain it all up top and then some.

^ He gets it.

For you, I'd throw in a set of 4.10's right now. Then you'll need to work on your suspension to hook.

From your list, gears would be my choice.

Even if you have a Ford dealer install the 3.73's, you'll have no factory warranty on your rear end any longer. The parts themselves typically have a 12 mos / 12K mile warranty, but that doesn't cover labor. The factory warranty on the rest of your car will still be intact, however.

I've swapped gears in most every Mustang I've owned, and the 8.8" rear end is super tough, so don't worry about warranty. Get the gears (4.10's FTW) - you'll thank us later!
