This weeks track times....

Post them up here.

I did terrible last night - first time out this year. I should have been worried about launch control more than the guy next to me. Jitters LOL! After getting used to the car last year I must have lost memory of what I had figured out and ran like crap. my rear tires are getting bald so that may be an issue as they have much less tread thickness compared to my fronts. 12.4/116, 13.0/112, then some real bad runs. Best 60' last night was 1.96. I could not get any traction and hit the rev limiter on some runs trying to edge out every bit of rpm and that slows the car down. It was busy - only had time for 3 runs in 3 hours. I may ditch the NT05 rears for NT05Rs or maybe another brand. The aluminum driveshaft is making the car spin the tires with too much ease which is not a bad problem but need getting used to it.

Going back out in May.

It was brought to my attention by another racer last night that I should swap front and rear tires - he could see the difference from 10' but I didn't think much of it last night since the car only has 6K miles on it, the tires have 5k miles... After viewing my tires in daylight I am shocked. I think I see why I may have some traction issues. The nice soft outer layer of my rear tires is gone - totally burned off. The rear tire is hard compared to the front tires which are still soft.

A new Nitto NT05 has a tread depth of 6/32". My front tires are at 5/32" which is still good.....my rear tires are less than half the new depth which is way too thin.

After doing a little searching on the web I see others notice serious traction decline at about 1/2 tread depth.

I may get 555s for street driving since they have more tread depth, and a set of NT05Rs for the strip.

I read that the NT05 has a 200 wear rating, what is that?
The 555s have a 300 rating.

Anyone know how to decipher this info?

I am making 446rwhp an 415rwtq with 4.10 gears and have Mickey Thompson et street 2s. 305/45/18.. Even running them at 32 psi on the street for everyday use they are Amaizing! They just won't spin even when dropping the clutch at 3k rpm, it just takes off. With my stock tires I was unable to use 1st and 2nd gear after the mods until I got these tires... Mickeys in rear. Nt555s in front they ride great no complaints

I drive the car once or twice a week at best. I may try those out.
