Tuners

Which tuners is everyone using and which tuners used with stock vs modded mustangs? I'm looking at the diablosport trinity T-100 and Bama SF3/X3

I recently installed an Airaid (450-264) CAI in preparation for a Bama tuner and tune later on. All my friends use Bama and are happy with it. I'll be following their advice.

The Diablosport tuner from A.M. is on sale this month. I highly recommend them as I use them to tune my previous Mustang and I have the one I just mentioned on the way for my new stang. I gotta say tho I have a few friends that use Steeda cai and tune and love it. I just prefer to stick with what has worked for me.

When it comes down to it it all depends on who supports it. Mail order tunes are quick and get the job done. But if you want to get your car perfect a dyno tune is where its at and not all dyno shops support all tuners. I have the SF3 and never had an issue with it. Easy to use. Lifetime tunes from bama that are easy to put on the tuner.

Once you apply a tune, your Mustang is modded.

A supercharger works awesome, but is pricey.
A cold air intake works well with an upgraded exhaust system. If you can do headers all the way back to the exhaust tips, even better.
They are suspension mods as well and rear end upgrades as well.
Obviously, suspension mods do not require a tune.

Do you have any mods? Auto or mt? If you are going with either JPC has excellent tunes and customer support.

Not yet I was thinking about starting with a tune and then adding more as I go. I have an auto with 2.73 gears

scramblerider5,

There's a lot of good tuners to choose from. We've had a lot of success with both SCT & Diablosport. Just choose which one fits your budget and needs. I really don't think you can go wrong with either!

By Tuesday of next week Ill have an unmarried SCT for sale. You will just need to add the tunes. Getting a proper dyno tune so I'll have no use for it.

Why are you not using your SCT for a dyno tune? That would save you having to buy another device.

The speed shop I am using doesn't support sct tuners. When shopping for tuners I almost chose the Diablo Sport one, but settled on Sct. So yeah, unfortunately had to purchase a second tuner and will sell the sct at a loss. Not pleased with the 5 email tunes I received from Bama anyway. Since I have no intention on changing tunes since the one they are writing is fully custom (they have my car right now), the DS Intune will reside in my glove box until I can put the super charger in.

I'm sticking with the stock tune... The stock CAI seems to work great on these cars. I could see the need for a tuner if I changed gears or added a power adder or full exhaust upgrade.

I suggest figuring out what path you want to go down with your car and decide on what mods you would need to achieve that destination.

Should I install the tuner before making a road trip or wait until after?
