TEXAS Inspection fails 3 "Not ready" Experience
Hey folks,
I've surfed and searched for a few hours now. Reading a lot of older threads and some that shouldn't be resurrected. If I missed the appropriate thread, please let me apologize now.
I recently failed inspection, twice now, with NOT READY's here in Houston, Tx. Originally I had an o/r x pipe with the car and it failed with the same 3 Not Ready results. I wanted LTs so I upgraded but this time went with a catted x pipe as to make sure to pass my inspection.
I have a custom tune and really am enjoying the gains, from Patrick at PSI Motorsports here in Webster, TX.
and have bama tunes for life from AM prior.
2014 Brembo Mustang
Mods:
C&L CAI
Kooks Long Tube headers
Kooks Hi Flow X Pipe
Kooks Axle Backs
Bama SCT X4 tuner, with now a custom tune from PSI
Is there anyone running a similar set up that has passed the Texas State Inspection? Patrick said that I would be able to pass since I have the high flow cats. And places I've read said similar things as well as a bama rep I read on another forum. I'm just surprised that I didn't pass after putting the catted x pipe on.
Any help or advice I can get from you fine fellow gear heads would be much appreciated.

Luckily in my part of Texas it's only a visual inspection for cats.
Patrick did my dyno tune for my 2007 with a supercharger and LT headers.
I have no experience with this but I've heard that the engine needs to be fully warm and therefor the cats also. The problem is with any LT header they are moved downstream and will show results different from stock and most tuners turn the rear sensors off.

I'm going to go with the tune here.
There are others out there running Kooks LT's and their high flow cats and are passing emissions here in MA. (MA is very strict with emissions.)
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Have you driven the car enough cycles to run all the monitors?
It take acertain number of drive cycles and miles at different speeds to set all the monitors!
I have seen this a lot here in CA!

Run Kooks " green " catted X pipe & Lt's on both cars, my 11 has passed N.J. inspection in 2014 / 16 with no issues.
........( it threw codes with Kooks std. hi-flo cats )
Here they only check to verify everything is enabled.
As mentioned in post # 5, it takes several driving cycles to re-set everything.

If the battery was disconnected, you'll have to drive a few cycles before you can get it inspected because the monitors are reset.
Drive around for a few days, then go get inspected.
My car was sitting in storage with the battery disconnected and the same thing happened. I still have the stock cats with Corsa X-Pipe and Corsa Sport Axle-Back. Headers are in a box waiting to be installed.

Yeah as others have said, It could need to get through a few more drive cycles. The GF tired to do an inspection shortly after getting a battery changed and the guy said to go drive it for something like 50 miles (cant remember the exact number) and bring it back.
