With an auto and some drag racing, I highly recommend a centrifugal blower (i.e. Vortech, Paxton, Procharger, etc.). It'll allow for easy launches and super consistent ET's.

My '07 GT automatic coupe had a Vortech V2. With just 4.10's and a converter, it ran 11.7's to 11.8's. An '11 5.0L set up similarly could run high 10's or low 11's.
