Steeda X5 ball joints
Steeda X5 ball joints
Quick question, on Steeda's website the X5 ball joints say they are for 05-09 cars. I was wondering why these can't be used on the 2010-2011 cars. The specs for the Q550 on here list the X5 ball joints as part of the suspension mods.
Anyone know if they can be used on the new cars or not?
Thanks.

I don't think they can be. My guess is that the Q550 X5's is a misprint. Steeda makes it's money selling parts and I'm sure if the X5's would fit 2010+ cars they would say so and sell them. I think it is safe to say they are working on a set to fit the new cars right now.
2010-11 vehicles have a different size ball joint so the X-5 cannot be fitted unless you changed the entire control arm to a 2009-earlier assembly.
We are working on 2010+ ball joints but those will be at least 4 to 5 months out.

Thanks for the heads up Gus. I'm using Ford Racing K springs on my car, trying to get the instant center back up. Looking forward to these being released.
Sorry to bring back an older thread, but I forgot to mention although the ball joints are not currently an option on the 2011 GT, our front control arm relocation kit is.
This kit is only 83.95. It is more labor to install than the ball joints, but you also get a better roll center correction than you get with the ball joints because it moves the control arms a farther distance. The ball joints have a relocation distance of 14mm, the control arm relocation kit is 19mm.
So there is still an option for roll center improvement if you have a 2011 Mustang. You can read more about it here:

No, you want to run one or the other, not both. Unless your car was slammed 2 1/4 inches or more, which we dont recommend, you would not be even close to needing both items.
