spark plugs
whats everyone using (2012 gt) brand, type, gap, for a stock to mild bolt on coyote?
ANYONE??
I still have the factory spark plugs.
But I only have 20,000 miles with very mild bolt-ons |
Stock, .045 gap
I am still running the factory plugs in my 2011. I am interested in what others are running, since I am getting ready to change mine as well.
I just turned 40k so i,m going to change the plugs, give the maf sensor and throttle body a cleaning, so i guess its stock plugs since the car ran and is running great to begin with.
Can't go wrong with Bosch plugs :nice:
I still have the factory plugs. But I only have 8k on her and she is 3 years old.Through out the years I have found that sticking with factory plugs is the best.
Not to disagree with the previous poster but I am not a Bosch fan. I would run the NGK IX Iridium plug. No need to gap tighter unless you're running some type of forced induction. I would recommend the LTR6IX-11. I ran a step colder in my 2014 but the was supercharged. I ran an LTR7IX-11 gapped at .028 and ran them in the car for over 20K miles until I traded the car with zero issues.

i bought the stock motorcraft plugs sp548. the dealer told me the gap is between 48-51 another member told me 45 Steeda told me 38, american muscle told me 48-51 like the dealer, So what the hell should i gap my plugs at,2012 gt stock!!
If you haven't modded the car seriously, there's no reason to not stick with the Motorcraft stock plugs, which come gapped properly so you shouldn't be messing with it anyway.
i went with the stock motorcraft plugs, btw they switched to platinum, the stock plugs i pulled were motorcraft iridium, the replacement for them are platinum now, gapped them at 48 and all is well!!
