Shelby GT500 mufflers

I can get OEM exhaust from a 10-12 GT500 for $200. Is it a direct fit for a 2014 5.0? Are the mufflers a direct bolt in? Is $200 a good deal for a set with 5K miles on them?

They're about 300 new and mufflers really don't go bad. So anything less than that would be a decent deal but they are pretty quiet mufflers I have to say. Nice tone but not a whole lot of bark to them.

Thanks for the information. The price is for exhaust, too, at least the pieces that bolt halfway up to the manifolds. Are they different? Do they have resonators in them?

Install them, delete the resonators; you'll have plenty of "bark".

AM had a great sale on them in November. I got a set for my 2014 GT for $289. $200 for slightly used is not bad.

These came off of a Shelby, OEM, along with the pipes.

I think you'll be happy with them...$200 is a fair price. I'd offer the seller $175 and see if they bite.

The GT500s are not drastic but they're noticably louder than stock and they have a terrific tone...most folks say that this is how the car should have sounded from the factory. I was thrilled with mine until the Boss H-pipe became available and I decided that my life was incomplete without them.

With resonator deletes, the GT500s will be louder still... I'd suggest just bolting them up to the stock location first and decide if you want to go through the trouble of having the resonators removed.

As for the rest of the GT500 exhaust, I dobut there's a performance advantage...maybe someone else can offere specifics but I'm not sure you'll need them.

No need to replace the over axle pipes if you buy this deal, just use the mufflers and bolt them to your pipes. Much easier to install that way, and the pipes won't make it any better.

I thought that the factory GT 500 over the axle pipes already had the resonators deleted. I would say that $200 for the entire exhaust is a very good price. Most of the used GT500 mufflers I've seen have been $200 and up for just the mufflers.

Is everything (exhaust) a direct bolt in on a 2014 5.0? Do they just bolt to the cats?

The over axle pipes clamp to the H-pipe. GT500 over axles are 2.75", just like the stock GT, except they do no have resonators. I think those pipes and the GT500 mufflers for $200 is a good deal. I have that setup on my car, and like it. No drone and louder than stock.

Has anyone tried to order the 2011-2012 GT500 mufflers? My car was in a rear end collision causing damage to the mufflers. It is at a Ford dealer getting repaired but it is being delayed due to a back order of the GT500 mufflers? Can anyone else confirm?

I have 2012 Mustang GT with the Ford Racing GT500 style mufflers.

I may be mistaken I don't know much about the GT500 mufflers but I know the muffler hangers are different from 10-12 then they are from 13-14. May want to make sure you look into that.

$200 does sound good for what you are getting though.

Late Model Restoration has them for $309.99, you will have them in 3-5 business days or American Muscle.
I have them on my 2011 GT and love them. I may be adding a H or X pipe soon, but i have other things i want to add like the Whiteline Tranny Insert that i just got and a JLT rear axle tank for the vent tube then an MGW shifter.

2011 GT 400A, GT500 AB, Airad CAI, JLT oil separator, BMR Panhard Bar

These make me think they would be the same:

I can understand the 2013-2014 GT 500 being different though because the mufflers have the dual tips. I am banking on the 2012 GT 500 and the 2011-2014 GT being the same. I am pretty sure the mufflers will be, just not sure about the pipes in between the H/X pipe and the mufflers.

you're banking is right. You can use the Shelby over the axle pipes and that's resonators gone, all good, no cut.
