Redline light

Has anyone tried to adjust the light and use it for a shift light? I figured someone would figure out how to do this with a tune. So if your actual soft line starts at 7g (post tune) and hard is 250 more then you can set the light to fit.

I don't know about changing when the light comes on, but I set my new redline to 7300 RPMs with my SCT. At 7000, the dash lights up red like before but there is no fuel shut off now. So it is still a handy "shift-light". Also, there is no soft and hard fuel shut off with the SCT. You set a neutral rev limit, mine is at 7000, and a drive rev limit, which like I said is 7300 for me.

Good to know that it still comes on. That means it is set for a specific RPM and can more than likely be adjusted. Though the 7g light would sound about right where its at if 7300 is your new off point. I would like about 500rpm in between for cushion/reaction time though.

I haven't noticed a light on mine (auto). Is it only on manuals?

Wouldnt think so....but then again I dont know why you would need one in an auto if it knows when to shift. If you know what I mean.

Auto's have them as well.
My 2010 V6 daily has the light.
When I get on it hard from a stop it will rev up and the light will come on.
Never had the fuel shut down.
