People removing 2013-2014 LED foglights

Just an observation, and I find this strange...In years past, it was always popular to add GT foglights to V6 cars, and it seemed like they where well-regarded among GT owners, as in, they didn't usually get rid of them...With that said, the fog lights on previous cars (SN95, new edge, etc) where not the greatest performers as far as light output went...I can't speak for the 2005-2012 grille lamps on the GT, but people seem to keep them on the car, overall.

Now, with the 2013-2014 - LED fog lamps where introduced, and they look amazing, match the HID lights well, and really compliment them, provide useful light, and may as well be a second extra set of headlamps.

Yet, more people than ever remove them to add various aftermarket grilles...Ironic that what are arguably the best Mustang grille/driving/fog whatever you want to call them lamps ever...are deleted far more than anything in the past...Personally, I really like mine, has a nice 69 Mustang feel...

I think people are doing it because they prefer the deep tunneled in look that the GT500's open grill has. JMO, but I think it looks better than w/ the fogs too

Edit: oh and tons of 05-09 owners were replacing their fog grilles w/ Bullitt and billet grilles too.

If you want a nicer aftermarket one, there's not much that's offered out there w/ fog lights

When I started telling people I was ordering my Mustang... I had more than one person ask if it would have grille mounted fog lamps. My response was "Is there any other way?!" I think it is a iconic look!

I completely, 100% agree with the OP...

To each their own, but it seems a shame to delete what may be the nicest looking/best functioning lighting to ever grace the front of a Mustang. The lights immediately say "Yeah, I went for the V8."

The open grille look of the Shelby looks nice, but given the choice between having the lights and having an open grille, I'll stick with the lights!

I have a 2012 so, I scrapped the stock bulbs and went 35 watt HID and holy ****, these things actually work now. They are like 2 plasma flares on the front bumper. I really only use them out of town, like when I drove through the night on unlit Nevada highways last week heading to SoCal from Vegas. Very helpful then.

I love the clean, black, uncluttered look. I love the grill on my Roush. Simple, clean, adds to the overall intimidating look of the car.

I love the look of the fog lights and don't like the look without them. No grill changes for me.

I do like the boss grill. Light slots but covers in them. My buddy had a 13 boss and wanted lights in there bad. But I love mine, they are more affective in lighting the road than the regular hid's.

I have a 14 GT - I am going for the blacked out look and just installed Roush upper and lower grilles - looks awesome IMO. I agree it was a shame to bin the spotlights but I never go out at night anyway...

I guess Mustang owners just love to mod their cars. If spotlights were not standard we would probably all be fitting them

I deleted the fogs on my '14 GT, but saved them for the next owner.

I ordered my mustang WITH the grill mounted fogs but at the time they weren't doing them for Canada so mine came without. I was a little pissed at the time, especially when they started coming out with them in Canada about 6 months later.

If i had them, i don't know if i still would've gone to the CDC then the siebon CF grills.

I kept mine, but they are center mounted behind a billet grille. I wish that someone would have come up with a way to move them down to where the Roush fog lights are mounted. The Roush fog/driving lights are smaller and their housing looks horrible IMO on any color car other than black.

And the Roush fogs are halogen - same housing as the 03-04 Cobra, 02-04 SVT Focus, 05-07 Escape and 99-04 Lightning...funny they all used the same light, and Roush is still using them today huh!?

I love mine. I use them all the time as well. People flash me because they think they are high beams. When I flash them back they learn not to do that to us new Mustang GT owners. Ha ha.

That pisses me off. If they do it with enough time, I turn towards their lane and give them the REAL high beams.... dumb idiots

Why? They're likely flashing you because they can't see a **** thing.
