Ordered MGW shifter -- how about a Boss ****?

Like the title says -- I ordered my MGW shifter today and I'd really like to compliment it with a black shifter **** from a Boss 302. Is that a direct swap if I got the OEM shifter shaft from MGW? Do I need any extra parts to replace my standard GT shifter? And whats the best place to get the ****?

Lots of questions, I know

wondering also as I got the MGW with the "stock" threaded handle. I never know what ***** will/will not fit. I thinking that MGW threaded handle is just for their *****.

Also if you had the "not fancy" black/silver plastic **** (sorry, didnt know how else to refer lol) you will need to get the "upgraded" shift boot which is shorter so there's room for the nut under the shifter. Hence why I havent done it. 50+ for the boot, 60+ for a ****...

I bought the Barton adapter and a white ball to replace my "Not Fancy" black plastic shift ****. Price was $50 and the quality is excellent, it fits like it was meant to be there from the factory and feels great in the hand. Now I just need the cash to order my MGW!

Pretty sure the MGW has a different thread size for shifted than stock, I think the grabber pony website will tell you measurement on most 5.0 shifters

They offer 2 different shafts -- one with their proprietary thread size that works with MGW ***** and a 2nd shaft with OEM threads. I bought the one with OEM threads, so my "not fancy" (apparently thats the name now, lol) shifter **** should work just fine, but I want to upgrade to a Boss 302 ****. MGW aside, does the Boss 302 **** swap right onto my stock shifter shaft? And if so, do I need to buy some extra parts to take up the space between the ball and the top of the boot? The stock **** is looong and the Boss 302 is spherical.

This is the MGW classic white ball **** installed on my 401a equipped "Premier trim" interior '12 GT. When you order your shifter specify that you want the "coarse pitch" thread handle, and the deluxe jam nut for all 401a equipped GT's or Boss 302's. A standard GT or V6 with the plastic **** and "fat bottom" **** hole at the top of the leather boot won't work with that ****/deluxe jam nut. Only with cars that have the skinny opening in the top of the leather shift boot.

On an unrelated note, am I the only one that thinks its odd that the word (k n o b) is being censored? I mean we're all adults here and are clearly talking about a car's shifter... Funny.

Man that looks nice... Though I'm a little confused. I've got the GT premium with California Special pkg so according to your info my boot should be the correct one for your setup. But I was under the impression that mine is the wide-mouth boot. I thought only the Boss 302 had the skinny-mouth...?

Your GT/CS has the large opening in the shift boot. The set up I have with the deluxe jam nut wont work due to the large opening in your boot. MGW does make an insert for the top of the boot which will close that hole. My car had the factory billet aluminum **** with the small boot opening like the Boss 302, (401a) which is why my boot is different from yours. If I were you I'd call MGW and ask to speak with George. He's one of the owners and is very helpful with any questions you may have.

As far as the censorship thing I guess I was looking at the site before I logged in and the word was censored. Now it isn't. Odd.
