not overly happy with hushpowers
i LOVE the sound at cold startup but then it doesnt give a muscular sound after warmup IMO
when i got these it was either the HPs or the SLP LMs, i shoulda gotten the SLPs
anyone else have remorse with HPs?
i want a muscular sound without sounding like a redneck pickup

I almost got the Hushpowers but purchased the Roush's at the last minute due to a sale that was going on with them. I heard a few of the youtube soundbytes and the hp's sounded pretty decent imo.

I finally did what I should have done in the first place, and bought the borla s-type catback. I only installed the axlebacks at first and what a difference...sounded very close to my 2001 2V Mustang GT exhaust (o/r x and flowmasters). These things really roar. Then I installed the rest with the x-pipe and this quietened it down a little and smoothed it out. Should have spent the money up front instead of trying to cheap out...lesson learned.

Hushpowers
Yeah, the hushpowers seem a little quiet, but it's kind of expected with their name. I was planning to do an off-road h or x, not sure what it will sound like, but I'm waiting to see the sound difference after adding a blower.

I like the Flowmaster HP but after a while they were too quite, but the sound was much improved with the whole setup - after cat pipes and x-pipe. I was looking for the old-school 5.0 sound.

I went through the same thing. I loved the sound of the hushpowers, but they were just to quiet (I know they are called "hush"powers, but they were supposedly the best sounding axleback on the 2011s). I wanted more sound so I removed the resonators...then it just sounded more like a glasspack at WOT...didn't change the volume at crusing or idle.

The hp's are a flowthru design... At low pressure / idle the deflectors muffle the sound, at high pressure / rpm they flowthru just like a straight pipe. If your "idling" through an area where loud pipes could get you unwanted attention, they're muffled, stomp on the go peddle and they're as loud as a straight pipe,.... Perfect for an older, refined more sophisticated driver, makes em not pay attention until you want them to.
