need help with install

I'm trying to install the air duct to the shield of my Steeda CAI and it calls for #10 x half inch button head Allen screws it goes through the duct fine but for the life of me I can't get it through the shield. Anyone have experience with this?

Have you tried rotating the duct 180 degrees? My Steeda CAI went together flawlessly.
