Need 5.0 exhaust help

I am looking to get an exhaust for my stupidly quiet 2012 lol. I want an exhaust that is as loud as my 2010 was (borla stings with o/r x pipe) but not any louder.

I really love the borla S type catback (video below) but I honestly think its pointless to spend $1200 on a catback or $900 for JUST the ATAK mufflers.

I am liking the roush axlebacks (can get them for $399 through JDM) but they dont sound good with an o/r x pipe so I would just use a BBK after cat x pipe to replace the h pipe and just use that setup.

Then there is the Corsa Xtreme's and the Kooks mufflers which both sound great with an o/r x pipe. The kooks with the o/r x pipe honestly almost sound like a Vette which I LOVEEEE!!!! The Xtremes sound really good too, but theres not too many videos up with an o/r x pipe.

All Videos are below and labeled, also if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great! Thanks!

I came across a vid of a 5.0 with SSW full exhaust with headers the other day. That sounded pretty dang good. I've been wanting to go xpipe n headers down the road, but I'll probably get rid of my Roush's when I do. I haven't heard a clip of them with an x/h pipe that I liked yet. I'll check out those clips in the morning.

Yeah I was in loveeeee with the stainless works kit, but this kooks setup sounds exactly the same. I am think of going with the kooks axleback and BBR o/r x pipe

$399 for Roush?? Can you please post link? I tried to find it but couldn't

Never mind. AM + free shipping + 6% code = about $7 dollar less

I too am waiting for a good Roush + straight H vid

I went with the Ford Racing MGTL-A's, which I believe are made by Borla, but are mucho cheaper than $900 and sound frickin' awesome.

I have these also and really like them. However just like the Borla they have no weep hole for water that collects over time. I drilled a small hole for that. It was no big deal. Some of the other manufactures have the same problem.

PM Steve from PureSpeedMotorsports. He's a vendor here that is a Roush dealer. He's hooking me up on some things.

Just remember you car will sound different because of the changed firing order.

Right on...and the 5.0 just doesn't sound as good as any hi-po verstion of the 4.6L because of this, IMO.

That's not to say that the Coyote doesn't sound good... just that the 4.6 was exceptional in the exhaust note department

I have Stainless Works full exhaust and LOVE it. I haven't heard any other setup that sounds better for the 5.0.

Well the thing is I dont want to tune the car just yet, so a FULL exhaust (including headers) is out of the question. There is a trick by using 02 nonfoulers this way the car doesnt throw a CEL with an o/r mid pipe so that is what I will be doing if I go with the offroad x pipe.

I personally like the sound of the 5.0 better than the 4.6 but thats just my opinion. As of right now I am leaning towards the Kooks or Corsa with BBR o/r x pipe. The Borla s type catback sounds realllyyyy good, but $1200 for an exhaust system is a little pricey compared to everything else out there.

Also is it true you 100% need a tune for the o/r x pipe? I was going to do the 02 fouler trick that was on a thread in here recently, but Lethal is advertising that their o/r mid pipes 100% needa tune due to the cat over temp sensors and the car will run richer and will hold back some performance

Ok I have now narrowed it down to either of these three in exact order. 1) o/r x pipe with Kooks mufflers 2) roush axlebacks with "after cat" x pipe 3) Borla S-type CATBACK. The reason the borla is the last on the list is cause its $1,200 and while it does sound amazing I cant see myself spending that much money on an exhaust when I can get the roush's for $399 through JDM and they sound similar.

Only issue I am worried about is the whole 02 sensor issue that Lethal performance says "you need a tune or the car will run rich and hinder performance due to the cat overheat sensors". Is this true, or can I just use this trick this way I dont throw a CEL http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...-cel-read.html

If you want loud but don't want to spend money for Borla's then the Roush's are your best bet. Video's don't do them justice, they are loud.

If you want loud just do a custom muffler delete. $200 at a muffler shop.
