My first step to 1000 hp

Hello everyone,

I'm new member and I would like to shear with you the modification that I will do in my 2012 Mustang 5.0. I just got my parts today and it was

* Borla Aggressive ATAK Cat-Back Systems 140372
* BOSS 302 INTAKE MANIFOLD
* Cold Air Intake kit
* Bama SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner

I hop I can achieve more then 400 whp on the dyno

Welcome. 400rwhp will not be an issue w/ those mods. Will only depend on how dialed in the tune is.

Matches,

Welcome to TMS! Definitely post up some pictures of your 12' GT, we'd love to check it out.

Great list of mods so far! That will definitely put you right over 400 wheel horsepower and really close to the 11's or into the 11's depending on the Transmission!

Keep up the great work and let me know if you ever have any questions!

-Dan

Well um, that CAI was a waste of money if you're looking to make 1000hp. And if you're going with a roots type blower, so was the intake.

I was kinda thinking this same thing. Although at 1,000hp+, I think I'd probably go centrifugal or turbo anyway for traction purposes. But what are your ultimate plans for reaching 1,000hp?

Agreed. But I was just pointing it out. I'd probably go Procharger to keep it street legal.

Roots yeah, turbo no. At least not in CA...being that the Boss intake is already installed, I was just saying what I'd do in this case.

Probably right...but no reason to be rude.

I suspect that if he finds the parts to not be useful in the long term, he'll be able to sell them to recover some of the cash.

Build a kit, the Hellion kit is pretty expensive....

A precision 76 is $1300, intercooler $700ish, pipe $500(I have a friend that can bend and weld so that helps), BAP, BOV another $500....

The Hellion kit can be pieced together for WAY less IMO...

1000 crank isn't a crazy out of the possibility, some valve springs, rods and pistons and its game time.

Sooooo, then not stock, lol. Realistically what can a STOCK, read, unmodified from the factory, Coyote 5.0 safely push? 550-600 hp?

Well it'll be pretty far from stock by then, but what did you expect? You thought he was just gonna slap some turbos on and hope it didn't explode on the dyno?

I hope you've got deep pockets if you want to reach 1,000HP. Don't skimp on ANYTHING when doing a build like that either.

My N/A built motor is gonna run me almost $13K.

If I had a wallet that didn't have a bottom I would do valve springs ONLY and I bet you can make 1000 at the crank...
