MGW Shifter in Cold Weather

Like most Mustang manual transmissions with OEM shifter, cold weather shifting is a bit notchy and much slower until fully warmed up (driven for approx 3 or 4 miles). While I am sold on the MGW shifter and intend to install one in the spring, I am told it eliminates the cold weather shifting issues. Is this possible? I thought the cause of the notchy shift is the gears / fluid in the transmission, not the shifter, so how can the MGW help this issue?

The notchy shifting in cold is normal with most manual transmissions. I have an MGW and my trans was noticeably notchy on only the coldest days (single digits).

The MGW will help alot, and it is a big improvement over the stock shifter, but on cold mornings it is still a little notchy.

I live in a very cold winter location. Mustang is parked but have a manual F350 diesel. I don't know about notchy but moving the clutch and shifter is like trying to paddle cold molasses. It's real slooowww. The clutch goes in with marked fluid resistance and hesitates coming out real sloowww. Need to double clutch the first few shifts. Glad Ford has good o rings in the hydraulic clutch - had vehicles which failed the o rings on the second clutch input prior to warm up.

I have an MGW and agree, didn't eliminate the cold shifting issues. Don't get me wrong, it's worth every penny over the stock POS. I also had my fluid swapped under the TSB which helped a lot. Installed the Whiteline insert and McLeod braided clutch line on Sat and it shifts perfectly now.

So as of now I have done the following and it's worked out great:
MGW Shifter w/street bushing
TSB fluid swap
McLeod braided clutch line
Whiteline trans insert

I've been thinking of doing the Whiteline. Did you modify the center tab?
Any additional NVH?

Maybe I've been lucky so far but I have zero NVH from installing it. Left the center tab as is. Thought about modding it from what I read by drilling it or cutting 1/2" off the end but figured I'd like see how it would be untouched. So far so good. This is a great addition to the MGW install, I should added the insert sooner.
