LT and exhaust
New to this site just did Kooks LT and full exhaust Cat delete of coarse the check engine light is on have not done a tune as of yet (of coarse i need to) question 1 is there an exhaust tune available? I have turned the CE off several times but the car seems to run better with the check engine on. Does this make any sence or is it just my imagination?
Don't want to sound stupid but my 2004 GT never had this issue
Thanks for your input

Means the tune for LT headers will not specifically bring out more hp/tq from it.
But I was surprised with this. Hope Ryan was wrong..

I asked BAMA (Ryan), and the only thing they would change in a tune for LT headers (I asked for Kooks LT and H pipe) and H/X-pipe was the adjustment for the reallocation of the O2 sensors.
Means the tune for LT headers will not specifically bring out more hp/tq from it.

As for the hp/tq gains, they're not from the tune, they're from having less restriction. The tune will optimize the air fuel ratio and driveability to make sure that you can make that extra hp/tq and that you account for that loss in restriction. It also turns off the check engine lights that will occur such as o2 sensor slow to respond (for being moved farther away) and catalytic converter inefficiency (for being higher flow or no cats), etc.
So basically, there are no tunes that will make more power with long tubes. The long tubes will make the power, the tune will support the addition of the long tubes.

A cat-back will give little to no (measurable) gain. X-pipe's are seeing 10-15rwhp by themselves, and long tubes are seeing 15-25rwhp by themselves. HUGE gains to be made upstream.

I didn't have it dynoed but after installing the Borla ATAK catbacks (with x-pipe) I could feel a difference. Not huge, and it may only be throttle response or something but it definately feels like it picks up faster. Of course after adding JLT cai and Bama 93 race tune then it's a beast!!!

There's any where between 25-35 RWHP in long tubes with high flow cats or no cats, depending on what other modifications are done to the vehicle. The Kooks systems are ridiculous. They are amazing quality, and the performance gains are so sick. Everyone was saying "man, look at those factory tubular headers the 5.0 has, they made it unnecessary to get aftermarket ones!" While I admit, the stock setup is by no means terrible, it's obviously still a restriction for that much of a gain with LT's.

Which long tubes did you go with? A Bassani unit or something else?
