Lots of new parts to install.

Too excited not to share. Been collecting parts over the past 6 months while I wait for my engine to be rebuilt (#8 cylinder failure). I'm expecting to have the motor back in my posession in the next few weeks. Only thing left is to reassemble the heads, the cams are in transit to JPC's shop as I post this.

Engine Build:
JPC/RGR short block (stock compression)
JPC/RGR stage 1 heads
JPC cams
Upgraded valve springs
Billet oil pump gears

Parts that have arrived already:
JBA long tube headers
JBA catted h-pipe
Boss 302R manifold
Spec stage 3 clutch
Boss/CS lower front fascia
Boss oil cooer
JLT catch can
AM GT500 style rims (18x9, 18x10)

Parts I still want to order:
Pypes super system catback
Spec steel flywheel
Nitto NT555 (255/45, 285/40)

PICS!!

Sounds like fun! I still can't get over how big the heads are on these cars.

What do you like to do? Strip or track days?

Little bit of both. Prior to owning the Mustang, I had a Toyota X-Runner that I used for a lot of Solo II racing and some strip. I will likely stick to that kind of racing.

There is a road course here in Austin (Driveway Austin) that is a road course that offers driving lessons and racing licenses. I would very much like to get at least my L1 race license from them and move more towards track days.

Nice! I'm in the same boat. Love the 1320 but since I've done a couple track days I'm hooked on it. Can you do both with one car? Hmmmm.....

Def can! However as you raise the bar of performance you will start seeing the vehicle favor one over the other (depending on the mods).

I would like to think my car as being more built towards the track (lots of suspension mods are next on the list), yet still being able to run a 10 sec 1/4.

More or less. Same mods, different manufacturer for most of the parts.

I will be adding the CFM 90mm TB after all said and done to do some before/after testing to see if there are gains are a more modified N/A engine. So far I haven't seen where a TB has shown good gains for the price. But I have a deal worked out with CFM to test theirs, hopefully end of this year, maybe early 2013.

I was thinking the same thing with the TB, but I picked one up for a good price also. I was reading people picking up some lost torque due to the Boss manifold. I dont think your build will have that problem though LOL. Sorry to go off topic,

Another round of parts came in today.

Spec steel flywheel, magnetic oil drain plug, Mishimoto aluminum radiator, and Pypes super system catback.

I picked up the Pypes catback used from a forum member, so it doesn't have the new shiny look. I'll snap some picks of the full exhaust from headers to tips a bit later.

Estimated gains are about 50whp. JPC has a dyno where they made 480rwhp with heads/cams, long tubes, catback, CAI and a tune. Most full exhaust/CAI/tune setups i've seen have been between 415-435rwhp.

There was an N/A dyno that a magazine did with only the heads (stock cams), that netted 22rwhp and 10ft-lbs with bolt ons. They made 426rwhp/422rwtq with the heads and bolt ons (up from 424rwhp).

What? Where you tuned either time? Did they find root cause either time?

Wow this is going to be awesome! Too bad you had to rebuild it though, but whenever something's breaks or gets damaged on a mustang it's always a good silver lining!

congrats, tehMoose.
BTW, are you running forged internals on this one? I'm not familiar with what the JPC shortblock entails.

Yes, the bottom end is using forged internals.

Quick update.. Motor is in, been having a hell of a time getting the transmission buttoned up though..

Unfortunately because of real life events and weather, I was only able to put in one good day of work. My work week starts tonight (overnights), so I'll have a few hours today to fiddle with it. Still waiting on a tune though.

Keep us posted!
Any idea why it's giving you trouble? Motor mount issue maybe?
