I know this all to well from personal experience.. Unless the OP lives in a state in which he can be exempt from emissions testing, providing of course he meets the required 5000 miles per year or less, shutting off the rear 02's will most definitely get him a failure for certain..

Yeah,....the "green" Kooks stuff is supposed to pass emissions.
If it doesn't pass with the new stuf Kooks sends you, you have to go after the tuner. I'm willing to bet it's the tune all along though.

Maine doesn't have emission testing right now. We had it back in the early 2000's, they used a sniffer in the tailpipe test then. The company that set up the emission testing stations had problems and went out of business, no mention of further testing has been floated by the state. In case they do though, that's why I want Cats that will pass.
Depending on your states emission exemption requirements.. Most usually require 5000 miles or less per year in counties which are required to pass emission inspection.. Certain counties and rural areas are automatically exempt altogether..

I change my off road pipe and catted
Kooks pipe out about once or twice a year.
Sure is easy on a lift but I've done it on cribs too. It's more of a nuisance than anything. I'd say an hour including jacking the vehicle up and making sure the over axle pipes and axle backs are lined up right afterward. Plus you generally have to retighten once after it's gone through a year cycle.
