Some people's dump truck is anothers sweet song...
The resonators are just small round mufflers in your exhaust system, just ahead of the rear axle on GT's, up behind the cats on V6 cars.
To remove them requires cutting and replacing them with a straight pipe, or replacing the pipes all together.
Taking them out increases the sound volume and harshness.
If you take them out and don't like it you can always get them welded back in.

Inspection looks for emissions which resonators have no influence over. They are related to sound only. Unless you have noise level requirements for inspection (I doubt that is the case) then removing resonators is no problem

I installed these on my 2014 GT and they sound bad a**. Everyone that has heard them, love them. I left my resonators on and don't plan on removing them. I would try the exhaust with them left on and see how you like them. This system is fairly loud, especially on a cold start.
