Installing barton new shifter with barton bracket already on
I just got a Barton shifter as a gift and was thinking of installing it myself. Do I need to loosen up the bracket below or can I just install from the inside of the car. I already have a Barton bracket that was installed by my cousin last year. Thank you in advance.

I believe that you will have to loosen the bracket to put the shifter on. If you don't I believe there isn't enough clearance to get the back right bolt out to get the stock shifter out.

Yeah, you either loosen up the bracket from under the car or you end up having to "massage" the metal inside the car to get to bolts and to be able to get the shifters in and out.

Did you just bend the edge up with some pliers, then bend it back down afterward?? I can't see the pictures here at work for some reason. Was it for both of the right side bolts??
TIA

Yes, I used pliers to bend the metal up and out of the way, for both right-side bolts
