HP expected from a JLT CAI and a good 93 performance tune

I am close to installing a JLT CAI -107mm- and a good 93 performance tune on a 2013 GT with 6 speed. Question-
Can I get 30 RWHP from this combo?
The car is completely stock otherwise.

Yeah around 30whp from a good tune. I made 393whp with the JLT and a 92 octane tune from Bama (amerian muscle). A dyno tune where it can be dialed in on a dyno I'm sure would yield a little more.

This....

Most beleieve that because the stock air box is so good, the CAI may only be worth a few hp over the tune. If there are other parts you want for the car, consider going for the tune and getting the CAI later.

20-30 rwhp. Put a o/r x or h pipe and really increase you HP. Having a MT any tune will net you around the same Hp.

Mustang66,

A JLT CAI and Bama Custom Tune combo is definitely worth a solid 30RWHP and 30RWTQ! We've seen great numbers out of the 13' GT's with just minor bolt on's. Like everyone's saying above, CAI and Tune, paired up with an O/R mid pipe and you'll be making some really decent power. Let me tell you a little bit on how we write our tunes!

For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance! Also, Check this video of our 13' GT In CAI and Tune:

-Dan

I have no skin in this game...except that seeing vendors offering advice is a bit troubling.

Again, it seems that the 30rwhp is pretty close to what folks report on a good tune alone. I suggest trying that first. If you're not happy with the results, you will likely pick up a couple more hp and some noise with the CAI.

Wrong... New CAI, and tune together will get you over 25hp, tune alone will not be enough.

I did. My track times didn't change. Sorry I'm not a believer in a dyno with the hood open.

I've run the boss intake with an open and a closed airbox and the butt dyno yields no difference

Well that's where your wrong, and it's your decision. All the magazines, tuners are all wrong and you know everything.
You can't go by track times, too many variables, just like dynos, I can go to the track and run high 11s to 12s each time I'd different, weather DA, etc.

Even the mags show minimal gains (>10 hp) which is still within the margin of error

We should probably start our own topic instead of ruining his.
Everyone swears by Aluminum driveshaft, Definitely less weight, but no difference in track times, skinnies on front of car definitely a improvement, but usually less then. 1 tenth track times. See what I'm saying? Mods by themselves won't seem to help but when all done with several mods, they all work together and produce huge gains.
