High flow CAT Install on Lethal H pipe
Long story short Ican’t handle the smell of my Lethal O/R H but I don’t want to put the stock Hback on because I do want a little more sound and better flow. So I decided to just weld in some high flowCAT’s. I think I’m going with eitherEastern or Vibrant 3” CAT’s with 200CPSI or Magnaflow 3” 300 CPSI. Accordingto flow testing I found on a LS1 forum the Magnaflows are the best at 576 CFM. They are all around $100 per CAT. For comparison purposes the stock CAT’s areabout 600 CPSI.
Now for thelocation. Unfortunately most 3” CAT’sare about 4” in overall diameter so adding them to the long straight section ofthe H won’t work. The Lethal H butts up prettyclose to the frame rail especially on the driver side. There is only ¾ of an inch b/w the two andthis is with a 3” pipe so adding a 4” CAT will bring that down to ¼ which wouldbe to close. Also the CAT would performbetter closer to the header due to heat.
Anyone have anyinput?
