Me, I just have a cheap set of GT500 replicas and Dunlop Wintersport M3s that I run from late November to early March. Granted our winters in NOVA are probably a little harsher on average than Fort Worth.



I love the Wintersports because they are a performance winter tire. Excellent in light snow (4-5" or less) and they still have very good dry weather performance as long as it's under 40*F.
I'm down in Va beach and like you i'm anticipating snow. So what size tires and wheels do you run in the winter?

Bringing this back from the dead...has anyone tried those Michelins yet? How do the Super Sports compare to PS2s?

I'm also interested in the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars that come on the Brembo package verts...they're a good bit cheaper than the Pirellis, but are they less grippy/more flexy?

I just installed Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 255/40/19 winter tires on my stock Brembo wheels. I haven't had them long enough to say they are good or bad.

We don't get too much snow down here in Tampa

I'm more interested in the Super Sports vs. PS2s vs. Eagle F1s.

I haven't tried them yet but so far my 370Z boys that are running them say they are better than the PS2s and the OEM RE050A (Bridgestone).

Have a few other buds running them with a variety of sports cars (Vette, Porsche, etc) and it seems like its the best street tire out there right now aside from maybe the RE-11/AD08... but those are really track tires that work on the street.

Super sports surpass ps2's in every way. Track performance, wet, noise, and tread wear from my experience. Ps2 tend to chunk on track as well.

Someone here linked a thread from a BMW forum where the Super Sports were chunked after I believe he said he hadn't had an issue with the PS2 previously.

I've seen that thread before. I wouldn't put much weight into it. They pretty much discounted the chunking and chalked it up to abuse. It is a street tire first, track tire second.
