I want to buy a CAI/w tune and I know you have to send the tuner a 4 digit code thats usually on a little sticker on the computer. Mine didn't have this sticker. Here is what I took off the computer.

HYZS or 5 hard to tell, that S or 5 has been crossed out and 6 added with a marker.

PN: BR3A-12A650-AHF the F has been crossed out and C7 added with a marker.

PN: 5WY3744FBAY

SN: 0070027456

any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Looks like your ECU code is HYZ5, BUT.......No idea why the 6 is handwritten in. There are both HYZ5 and 6 codes. Mine is a 5 and has a VIN # after yours.. My Stillen Tune is labeled for both the 5 and 6 box..

 

Mine is crossed off as yours is. That is the #5 made into a 6. HYZ6.

 

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to go with the 6. Perhaps Ford did some last minute changes to the tune.

 

Funny how you hear all these HYZ5's and 6's, mine is a GTU6, and don't say it's a Canadian spec built car. It's not, i bought it in Rochester N-Y.

 

Perhaps they knew you were getting that car.

Did you order or was it dealer stock?

 

I've got the fast one too (GTU6)

 

A) Rochester is close enough to Canada that it's pretty much all the same.

B) What's the difference between the HYZ5/6 and the GTU6?

 

Good ? Maybe one is for automatics and the other for manuals. If I had the time I'd ask everyone for their codes and start a database to try and figure this out. I bet their are more codes out there.

 

Bought mine from Rochester, same place as Montreal Ponies did and my code is EEU was 6 now a 7.

 

These ECU codes must serve a purpose of somekind.

 

I ordered it to my taste.
