rm2092,

We've had great results from this kit so far! This set up is ideal for users wanting to keep a warranty. With is kit we've seen gains Up to 16 HP & 7 lb-ft of TQ! K&N Drop-in Air Filters filter out harmful contaminants with it's unique layered design of cotton gauze that is sandwiched between two epoxy-coated aluminum wire screens for durability. K&N uses a specially formulated grade of oil to treat the cotton gauze layers to provide a tackiness throughout the cotton’s microscopic strands creating a powerful filtering media that ensures engine protection.

The only inconvenience is due to multiple power-train calibrations, online registration (with Ford Racing) is required to receive the ProCal calibration delivery tool after purchase. Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance. We look forward to doing business with you!

- Dan

Interesting difference....I have heard other folks say that a drop in K&N filter was known to reduce power slightly, and these posts made claims to dyno runs showing it as proof (they never did post the dyno sheet(s) though); maybe they were refering to it being the only mod; a filter but no tuner.

I don't see how just a filter replacement could lower HP/TQ though, so I never paid much attention to those statements.

Great I called two local dealers here in New Orleans to do the install to cover warranty and both told me they won't mess with them.

Yes .. that is the other downfall .. you have to PAY a Ford Dealer to install it if you want to keep your warranty .. and generally only FRPP authorized dealers will want to touch it. The dealer hooks up the tuner and uploads the tune and then installs a K&N ... crazy that FRPP requires a dealer to do that ... it's a no brainer.

The only issues I have heard is the power is not same as a custom tune and engine pinging.

Does not "retain" warranty. Gives you a separate 3/36 from date of vehicles first purchase. your 5/60 power train will be voided.

It's a drop in filter, should take you less than a minute or two. I'd be interested in learning more about the ProCal tool; I only know you need to signup with Ford Racing in order to download the tune.

Out of curiosity, I wonder how the tune will offset the supposed loss in HP from just dropping in the filter.

as far as the procal you get a sheet in the box with a number and website, all you have to do is sign in at website give your year and vin and in 2-3 days you get the procal with a usb chip you plug into your obd port and install . just like loading tunes into your car from sct etc. real easy

yep, except, unlike SCT lately, it doesn't take forever and decide to crash midway through leaving you stranded. takes about 15 minutes tops, including putting the drop in filter in (if you want to do that, I didn't).

Sorry to hear about your issues. Luckily, I have a Roush dealer and a FMS dealer both in my city area. the Roush guys did it for $60, with the paperwork needed.

I ran the same mph at the track with the factory paper as the K&N....
