Had a catback installed and noticing now on cold starts I get a bad banging/tapping. Metal on metal for about a minute then it stops. However, when driving, it rides most bumps smooth with no abnormal sounds/banging. But certain few bumps I'll get a noise.

Just wondering if anyone experienced the same. Any ideas what part of the exhaust is the culprit? I was assuming the OTA pipes?

The car is lowered on Steeda Utralites -1.25"F, -1.5"R.
Exhaust is Borla S-types, Borla over axle pipes, Bassani X pipe, stock cats/headers.

The bassani xpipe is know for rattling ,welding it in usually fixes the issue.

I figurrd out where it's coming from. Right where the OTA pipes and AB clamp together it's completely resting on that black bar. Not even sure what that bar is, but its right under the panhard bar. Passenger side has plenty of clearance and the drivers side usually winds up with less but this is completely touching.

Any ideas how to get that to be higher up? Or will I need to loosen everything and readjust? Thanks!

Should be pretty easy to fix that. Yea I'd say loosen everything from the cats back and adjust as needed

That's correct, it's the panhard bar brace

Anthony.... Did you figure out the problem? I was going to venture the bassani x, but sounds like it's the clamp between the OTA pipes and the muffler section?

Btw, did you read my thread on my borla a types cat back? I couldn't be happier. I have tons of vids there too

Hey Burton, haven't seen your thread yet. The Bassani X is perfect, its the pipes laying on the panhard brace. I will most likely get it fixed one of the next 3 days when I'm off. It didn't make noise when I first got it, so hopefully it doesn't get fixed and shift again.

Yeah not sure why it's banging on the pan hard brace. So far, mine no issue. Was it an install issue?

Need a little more advice. Well we determined its hitting the metal below the panhard bar...the pan hard brace.

Now when we adjusted it to where it doesnt hit, the left exhaust tip is tilted in and point down. Very ugly. When i center it just by pulling on the tip u can hear it make contact.

Any advice on how to get the muffler tip straight and the pipe to not hit?!?! It seems impossible! Has anyone had this issue? Thanks!
