I've noticed in pictures that there is a crossbar that goes from the top of one strut to the other over the 5.0 engine. When I took delivery of my 2013 gt, it didn't have that. Is that crossbar only on certain models, or did ford do away with it?

 

I believe it is limited to the Boss 302 and Shelby Mustangs. You can get one aftermarket from American Muscle, CJ Pony parts and other Mustang websites.

 

Certain option get your the strut tower brace (STB). Not sure which ones though.

 

19 inch wheels get STB.

 

I believe the strut tower brace on the GT's is part of the Brembo package.

Don't forget stock on GT/CS's!

 

Strut Tower Brace comes on all GT's and V6's with 19" wheels, and also on all convertibles, since 2011.
