DSS Aluminum Driveshaft Vibration

A buddy of mine recently installed his DSS aluminum one-piece. I drove his car, it feels great. I noticed around 2500 rpm at any speed, there is a little droning vibration. He says it's normal for a one-piece, but I see tons of people on forums claiming their one-piece driveshafts are just as quiet as stock.

Are there any one-piece DS guys here who can shed any light on this? Is there an expected increase in NVH or no? It really didn't feel that bad, just noticeably increased from my car with stock DS.

My DSS aluminum driveshaft does this, but is very smooth below and above that rpm range.

DSS is the only DS we run other than Dynatech. They're a little more for a reason though. We've installed about 40 plus of the DS on customer's cars and have yet to have or hear of any issues.

Let us know if we can help you out, we have around 24 of these in stock:)

Well rpm specific DS vibration seemed strange to me so I had the guy rev it in neutral. He said he gets the same vibration at the same RPM range. I don't think it's the shaft.

i have an axle exchange ds bought from AM on a 2011 gt auto. Have taken it to 140mph. No vibration. DSS is also a top brand. if it vibrates it could be unbalanced. Ucommon but It happens. Could be other things though.

I have a DSS and I have a driveline vibration starting at about 95, very noticeable at 100-120 (the highest I've driven the car).
The car's seen 135-140 on the dyno and the tuner said he didn't notice anything.

Lowered on Steeda Sport springs, stock UCA (for now, but I have a Steeda UCA "for lowered vehicles" waiting to be installed)

Now, I noticed a tiny vibration with the stock D/S, but it's much more noticeable with the 1-piece DSS.

And yes, I've turned it 90 degrees at a time at the transmission end. Now it's as best as it's been

I have a Shaftmasters 1pc aluminum DS with zero vibration on my 2013 GT.

I have a one piece aluminum driveshaft from the axle exchange which I bought from AM. I have absolutely no vibration noises from my one piece and I have been up to 140 mph in my 2011 3.7. Its smooth!

I have a 2015 GT Premium. I just purchased a DSS 1 piece shaft from Modify My Mustang, installed this past weekend and I have a tight & constant vibration from 55mph to 80mph. To say the least, I am not happy and these are supposed to be "high speed" balanced!!! Called and they said to index (rotate 180 degrees) the shaft and see what happens. Rotating this weekend and I really hope that works for DSS's sake...

I have their one piece carbon fiber unit and it has no vibration at all.

I dont see how turning the shaft 180 degrees would help. Unless your output shaft or rear yoke is out of ballance. But I'm not an engineer. Please keep us posted as we are all willing to learn. Well, some think they know it all. But I'm Green with the new cars.
