What is the difference in engine parts/internals between the 5.0 GT vs Boss 302?

Higher flow heads, longer lift intake/exhaust valves, different valve springs, forged H-beam connecting rods, crank shaft balanced differently, and I think it has forged pistons too IIRC. But I could be wrong though.

Pretty much everything that has been stated above.
  • Revised Oil pan
  • Oil squirter deletes
  • Same forged crank as the GT only balanced differently for the heavier piston/rod combo IIRC
  • Sinter forged rods
  • Possibly forged pistons (I have heard of it, but have never been able to confirm that)
  • Revised Primary tensioners & possibly secondary ( I haven't been able to confirm the secondary's either)
  • CNC machined heads
  • Hollow Stem Intake Valves
  • Sodium filled Exhaust Valves
  • Revised valve springs
  • 13mm lift Exhaust Cam
  • Short runner "Boss 302" Intake Manifold

Your right. Why count.
The Roadrunner needs nothing to prove when compared to the coyote.
The two motors speak for themselves.

All forged internals. One of the reasons I got a boss over something different

I don't necessarily consider "sintered" rods as "forged". Actually, I thought the Boss motor used Manley forged steel rods, and Mahle forged pistons. (?). I'll have to do some checking.
My buddy has a core Boss long-block lying in his garage I'm supposed to pick up someday (it's been a while)- I've just been too lazy. LOL

All those upgrades and only 24 more crank hp. Kind of a bummer if you ask me

Those so called up grades are not about Horse power only. Its also about longevity and being able to handle the HP when added. No one purchased a boss because it had those up grades in the motor alone. It was about the whole package that the Boss had to offer at that time. the Boss is not a drag car where HP matters. I for one would never of bought a Boss to be a drag car.
Would of bought a 50 and built it. What we do have in common is...we all have the famous clutch / tranny problems with the MT82.

Motor on my friend
