Comparison Exhaust Clip of stock 5.0 vs GT500 axel back???
I did a search on here and youtube and couldn't find one, does anyone have or know where there is a video that would have a before and after with the GT500 mufflers?
I ask because every video sounds different from a different camera and I am trying to get an accurate comparison.

I know the searches can be tricky for stuff like this since there is more than one way to word it, etc... but if you search for "2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with GT500 Exhaust" you should see a clip of a Grabber Blue car that directly compares the two...a forum member here posted it (Sorry I can't remember his name!) and he did an excellent job. It sold me on these mufflers.
I'd post a link but I can't access Youtube from this computer.
I just installed them a couple weeks back and they're terriffic. I think that the clip is acurate but they do quiet down a bit when the car is fully warmed up...though they still let a healthy volume of muscle car noise out to the environment.
After a couple hundred miles, I'm still very happy with them but they're perhaps just a bit too tame...but not enough where I'm looking to swap them out. They still have the best overall sound quality of anything i have heard and that's the most important thing to me.

Oh and the complete lack of drone with this system is not to be underrestimated. In that measure, they're OEM quality... yet you still get more than enough rumble inside the car to remind you that you have a healthy V8 infront of you.

You can hear a sound clip of the GT500 axle backs on a number of sites, but it's the same clip.

I don't have a sound clip, but ordered Wed, delivered Thur, on car this morning,
and I like them...........
I am not young enough to want the roar of Flows, but wanted something more than
the stock mufflers. You get more growl, a bit of cracling between gears, but mellow sounding when cruising. And as stated- no drone at all.

Totally agree. For $282 it's got to be about the best mod ever.

DoubleEDad pointed out in another thread that these mufflers get better for some reason as they break in... and sure enough, while I don't know what's physically changing about them, they really do seem to have picked up about 10% more volume and they sound even sweeter now!!
They're more than loud enough for me 94% of the time...and the louder exhaust systems are probably too loud for me 60% of the time so this is the best trade off, IMO. Besides, the lack of the pretentious/show-off theme is really nice and the low price is the icing on the cake.
I strongly reccomend this mod.

hell, go to the SVT forum and put up a wanted topic in the classifieds. I did that and had 3 different guys offering me them for $200 shipped.
Snagged a pair from a guy in florida with about 15 miles on the car. $200 to my door and they're spotless.

I bought the Ford Racing SVT GT500 Axle Backs from Late Model Restoration Supply. WOW!!! I love them. They are perfect! No popping sounds when you rev it, like the other brands out there. Awesome sound, while being civilized. Highly Recommended! Also the price was killer. Saved so much buying these and not buying another brand that I could by more go fast goodies. Not to mention the fit was also factory...because it is. No grinding, cutting or screwing around. You will save a lot of time if you use a vehicle lift and discount the left hand side of the panhard bar .

Hey I'm looking into getting a set of these and was wondering, what is the fitment like on the stock GT rear fascia? Is there much clearance between the tips and the plastic fascia? I'm not sure how the size of the tips compare to stock. Does anyone have pictures of these axel backs with the stock GT rear fascia? Here is a picture of them on the back of a GT500 with the GT500 rear valance. Just wanted to compare the spacing. Thanks!
