Cat Deletes

I've been reading mixed reviews on different cat delete pipes, whether they don't fit properly on the factory H-pipe, or the clamps arent very high quality, ect. Anyone have a set that they don't have any complaints on? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Are you set on just getting cat deletes? A ton of companies make off-road x or h pipes that delete that cats. You may want to go that route...

Doesn't necessarily have to be cat deletes, but I was leaning toward getting a full catback system that way it would take care of the entire exhaust all at once. I'm open to options though because this mod is still a ways off. I just got the car and intend to install a CAI and tune before tackling the exhaust.

I'm using the Steeda Cat Deletes with a Flowmaster cat back. Easy to install and they have caused no issues so far.

Oh, be sure to get your custom tune updated to account for the deleted CATs. Else you will be plagued by CELs.

+1 not only will u throw a code but your car will still think the cats r there and try to cool them by dumpingmore gas and you won't be running efficiently or at top performance.

I went ahead and ordered the Steeda Cat Deletes, but I don't plan on installing them until I get my CAI and tune, so no need to worry about throwing a code.

Interested to hear how you like them and how the install goes. I have thought about these for down the road with my car. Had a catless exhaust on my previous car

Pipes should be delivered today. It's going to beawhile before I install them though. I wantto get my CAI and tunefirst so that I can avoid getting plagued by CEL. I'm going to update and probably video results when it comes around.

easy to install? I wanted to strangle anyone close to me trying to get the old cats off. I got so frustrated i took it to someone else to do it. They make it almost impossible to get to the bolts.

I have Steeda cat deletes on my Boss. The hardest part was getting the passenger side cat off. I stripped the nut and had to get a "splined" socket to finally get it loose.

You'll need about 3 feet of socket extensions by the way....

Also, make sure you disconnect the battery, since you're working close to the starter.

Greets, y'all!

I'm very new to all this, so please forgive me for asking what may seem to be a very basic question - Why would one want to delete their cats in the first place? Is there that dramatic a benefit, and if so, what exactly is it?

Thanks!

Gain 10-15rwhp and also makes the exhaust a lot louder. Downside is you'll fail emissions and it smells funny

Is there a tune needed when doing away with them?

Yes you need a tune to disable your rear O2 sensors and to make your engine run more efficiently since the comp still thinks the cats are there.

You also need to address the COT protection with a tune.
