Brembo brake conversion

I have a 2013 GT/CS with stock brakes. I know a guy selling his brembo brakes, calipers, rotors, and brake lines for $850. They have 7k milled on them.

Worth the price? If so, would I need to change out my 19 inch CS wheels or make any other modifications?

If they are the same offset as the 11-12 CS those will not fit. You know for just a few hundred dollars more you could get them new...just saying!

Yeah I might just get new ones, or ones that I know will fit

I think Bigblue was talking about the brakes(new for a few hundred more).
850 is a bit much for 7k mile brakes, 650 would be a decent deal. You will need differant rims, takeoff brembos(rims) are cheap and not half bad.

Eh, I love my rims. That's just an unneeded expense. I'll find better fitting brakes.

No other brakes that would provide any benefit will fit. The factory calipers barely clear the cs wheels. Your only option with those wheels would be a wheel spacer.

good pads, and steel braided lines will make a HUGE difference in feel and response. just don't go to aggressive with the pad on a street driven car. Something in the range of EBC reds and Hawk HPS will be all you would ever need. personally, i like EBCs products allot.

My car is a DD and a track car, will those pads be good enough?

Yes. I ran ebc reds on my last mach1, it saw track time every weekend and autoX very offten. we also have them on our rallyX wrx. It's a race only car but braking loads are not as harsh in the grass and gravel. If your running road courses on the regular the stock brakes in general wont last and you will want a nice kit. If your going that far I would invest in Baer over Brembos. But for the drang strip and occasional autoX or 8/10s Lap of the local course your stock brakes components will be plenty. Honesty my 2011 gt Brembos are to much for the factory tires, IMO.

I went with a new Ford Racing SVT Brembo brake kit, $1200. Includes a lot: Front 14" rotors, front Brembo 4-piston calipers with SVT pads, rear SVT pads, Goodridge steel lines, plus I changed to synthetic DOT 4 fluid. The difference is night and day compared with stock, on the track. Yes, you will need larger (read wider & offset) wheels for these to fit - or any other descent brake upgrade set-up. See my TMS thread below, hope this helps, good luck and keep us posted!

How safe is it to run spacers at the track? Would the op need longer studs?

i would never trust spacers in a high stress environment.

I wouldn't trust stock all seasons that come in GT/CS's at the track.

Dedicated track wheels and tires are a must.
