Boss Exhaust setup from Craigslist

I wasn't planning on getting a Boss setup for my car .. but saw it on Craiglist for a great price so snagged it.

Now I just have to get in the mood one day to put the car up on jack stands and wrestle with the exhaust.

Exhaust installed .... I did not install the restrictor plates. I also have GT500 mufflers.

Cold idle: Definitely a louder rumble.
Idle: Can't really tell any difference.
Part Throttle: Definitely louder and meaner
WOT: Sounds Bad *** ... Almost like my Ducati with Termignomi Exhaust

I read many comments about the best sound is to use the restrictor plate but drill hole out to 3/4 inch. For now I will leave it without plates.

The main thing is there is no drone at highway speeds and it does not interfere at all with hearing the radio while cruising.

Yeah, that's one of those deals where you just have to do it. I would have done the same even though mine is a daily driver.

Very cool. Point of note, though, you have the side pipes connected to the wrong sides of the H pipe. I assume this was for ease of transport.

LOL .. yes .. actually they were just spun 180 degrees in the clamp for easier transport.

There are only one type of GT500 mufflers that I know of ... the ones that came on a GT500.

They were also a craigslist deal back before I even took delivery of my car.

My car is a '13, and I have 2012 GT500 axle backs....

Looking into changing them to the quad tip version.

I guess they would be the single tip ones?

I have wondered if the single or dual where different in sound and performance?

I know the Duals look great.

Boss exhaust setups aren't as expensive anymore new. We sell them for around 625 shipped, still pricey but a lot less than what it was last year.

There is some sound clips somewhere on this forum comparing the quads and the singles. The quads will be a little louder. One of my neighbors has a 2013 GT500 with the quads, and i can tell when the car drives by from inside my house

I have the single tip GT500 A/Bs, and I love them too. The tone is nearly identical to my ear. It was a $280 mod that really transformed the sound of the Mustang.

I love the look of the Quads. But I am not sure I want to Cut the rear Valance. I like the GT CS Valance better than the GT 500.

Where did you get your AB?

I found it for a great price on American Muscle site during last year's Black Friday sale. Than it sat in the basement till April while the car was stored over the winter.
But once I got it on, WOW, what a difference. There is more burple when coasting down in gear, the tone is much deeper, and it's louder than stock. I can actually shift by engine sound now without hitting the rev limiter (somehow the stock exhaust seemed to flat line around 6K RPM, so 6K and 7K sounded the same) . Plus I know I can cut the resonators for even more volume if I feel like it later on.

it's a piece of cake to cut the valance. It was a pain in the *** to get the axle-backs on
