Borla S Type install and initial impressions.

These things are awesome! Way better than the stock boat anchors. Tone, volume, range of sound are all excellent. Love the burble and pop when I lift off the throttle. Still, with all that glorious noise, they sound as soft as stock during highway cruising.

I thought the videos and sound clips online were great. They sound even better in real life!

Install was a pain. Botla's instructions were horrible... They gave the wrong size tools, didn't mention that you have to cut off the old clamps. The new ones don't slide in like they say either. I'm also not happy with the fitment - I will have to go back and do some more work to get them even and aligned.

Two of my friends have Borla (a '12 GT and a '13 GT). Both tips stick out a little too far, and they can't adjust them any more. I think they look good, and they sound great. I think you'll get used to it. Enjoy yours!

I ordered the 11-12 GT Borla S exhaust as well. AM was selling them ~$150 less than the 13-14 GT version. That amount of money was worth it for the exhaust to hang out to me. Honestly, I think it looks pretty badass, but I understand why a lot of people would disagree with me.

Also, thebms is right. The S type sound amazing and I recommend them to EVERYONE! Here's a video of my father driving my car.

Agreed. The look with the tips extending out slightly is pure 60's muscle car bada$$.

The sound makes the driving experience so much more visceral. Love it.

It may sound a little silly, but it really makes you more connected to the car and involved in the driving experience.

You guys are crazy. The ones made for the 13-14 fit so much better. Borla sent me a free set after they redesigned them for the 13-14 mustang. They are about an inch and a half shorter.

Speaking of tips sticking out I saw this 05-09 gt in my town the other day. They purposely have the tips sticking out, no joke like at least 8". Its probabaly the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Happened to be driving opposite way as it on the highway about a month ago and thought I just saw it wrong until I saw it again the other day....
