Battery icon before starting
I am trying to solve a slow start issue and battery. Everything tests good (battery, alternator, starter, connections, grounds, etc.) also cleaned the MAF, and throttle plate. I maintain this car (2013 GT) but I don't drive it daily and the problem is the slow start issue is very random. I noticed that with the Key in the ON position the CEL engine icon stays on and the Battery icon stays on. Is that normal? It goes out immediately when it starts. I never noticed this before, but I rarely have the key in the ON position (position right before starting). I need to get a scanner to be sure. Thanks.

Completely normal. With key in 'ON' position, all of the warning lights come on, then most go off, except CEL, Bat, and I also think the Oil Pressure light as well. Those should go off after you start.

thanks, I'm curious if this is the case for my f150 also. I thought that all lights come on and go off with the key in that position, but it sounds like I am wrong on that.
