Bama tune and airaid cai issues

Hi guys i have a 2014 gt, i installed the CAI AIRAID and the 93 race tune, apperently sometimes when o start the car it turns off and im driving it lags down untill it turns off and ahows a wrench light up in the revs,....

What could this be? Its been raining lately, could it be moisture getting in through the hood venta and falling on the filter??? I am frustuated with this, i taped down the hood vent on the bottom with electric tape so that the water would not drip.

i went to bed and when i woke up i attempted starting the car with same issues, it runs and after a few feet it turns off....... Please someone help me.

The red clip should be facing down with part number on sensor facing up. Did your filter have a lot of oil on it? Curious if some got onto your sensor.

I assume you disconnected the battery during or after the install?

Sounds like you're going into "limp mode."
If it were my car? I wouldn't move the thing until I got a tune from a real tuner.

The weird part is... AM isn't here yet trying to selling you parts for your broken car yet.

When you installed the AirRaid there is a tube that goes into the air inlet tube, if you have a tune that should be left out also. If you put it in, then you are restricting the air. I did this and the car would hesitate badly when touching the throttle.

Sounds like the MAF sensor or the inlet tube.

OP,

Shoot Bama a call if it's still acting up! We're more than happy to troubleshoot the hardware issues with you on this. I'm sure it's something very simple!

Josh, best response ever. Period. As the response above shows, "not my problem...even though you bought it from us, contact someone else".

Good luck op. I'd remove, get refund, flash back to stock till you get a better tune

Absolutely not. I think that the OP received some really good advice in this thread (all mentioned above):

1.) Check for a venturi tube or "maf insert" installed. If that's the case and the OP is running a custom tune, obviously this will need to be removed.

2.) Make sure that the MAF is properly installed.

3.) Check for any air leaks at the couplers or the filter flange.

After these things are inspected, the Bama team can really start digging in to find out where the problem is. If the OP were to call us up, we'd have helped him diagnose the 3 things above and then transferred him to a Bama Performance Tuning Specialist who could dive even deeper by looking at what codes get thrown when the car goes into limp mode to faster assess the problem.

I have no doubt whatsoever that if the OP checks the above 3 things and doesn't find an issue, that a phone call to the Bama team will get him squared away. Or he can shoot me over a PM and I can have someone call him directly!

We want our customers to be happy with the product and I'm sure it's an easy enough fix, as we sell hundreds of Airaid CAI/Bama Tuner combos and they're usually flawless.

Hope this helps!

Meh... My problem is, I look through their catalog, pick out a part I like, google it and find it for 3/4 the price AM has it listed for.
I don't really appreciate being marked up for being a "sucker."

"AM is always here to help" unless that help is finding a reasonable price.

Maybe you could be more specific as to what parts you personally purchased that were 25% cheaper than AM's selling price. Not saying it's not possible but I'm curious as to what those parts were. I've purchased from them in the past and with the forum discount their prices have always been competitive plus they ship fast and they have excellent customer service. But if you, personally, believe you're being marked up for being a "sucker" the solution to your "problem" is to shop somewhere else.

This thread was started by someone who has a problem with a part he may have installed incorrectly. It also appears that he never contacted AM about his problem. After receiving some helpful advice along with the requisite AM bashing, an AM rep jumps in with trouble shooting advice and offers to have someone from AM call him directly. What more would you have them do?
