anyone have thoughts on Roush springs & shocks/struts?

I have new roush shocks/struts over here, was wondering if anyone has them installed on their GT and if you "have" to go with roush springs. Any thoughts/driving impressions would be wonderful to hear. I have no problem going w/Roush springs, just wanted to get an idea of what the driving experience would be like in terms of ride quality and handling.

good stuff and you can use pretty much any springs you want. You don't have to use roush springs. What kind of a drop are you looking for?

Thanks for the info/response. I really don't want to go lower than 1", so the Roush spring works in that regard. I was just concerned about how harsh they would be in comparison to something like a set of FRPP's, H&R's or Steeda Lights. I don't want to get the suspension installed with a spring that is too harsh. Seems like more than a handful of owners have attained a mild drop w/acceptable ride quality and that is really what I'm shooting for.

from what I've read here the steeda lights are just that. They drop and the ride is still pretty good not to harsh and not to soft.

I had Steeda ultralites on my 05 and have Roush extreme springs on my 10 .I prefer the Roush springs, they work well with stock dampers and 20 "wheels with low profile tires . The 05 with the Steeda's, stock dampers and the same wheels was much harsher.

I sent an email asking if they'll fit on a 2011 GT and they said for the struts to fit you'll have to either use a spacer or use the mounts from a 2010.

That's correct. The 2011 front struts and strut mounts are different. From personal experience. You will have to purchase the 2010 strut mounts from Ford in order to use after-market struts. They haven't caught up as yet. And if you want to use adjustable camber plates instead, you still require the little rubber thingy from the 2010 mount.

Cheers.

Thanks. I'm not scheduled to get my car until mid September and I wanna put some miles on it to make sure I don't have any problems before I start modding it. Hopefully there'll be some 2011 specific parts out by then.

What about the springs? Will they fit on the stock struts without 2010 parts?

yeah, the springs will fit and so do the shocks, it's only if you change the struts that you need new mounts. Only thing with the 2005-2010 springs is the 2011 is heavier in the front end so it might sit a little lower than they're supposed to, but maybe not.

There's another post where a guy lowered it with 1.5" Ford springs, Koni shocks and struts and said he used the GT500 strut mounts, I'm assuming it was a 2010 GT500.

I had a set of these and sold them to a friend. We installed them and it was a world of difference.
