Anyone have issues with dialing in Cam Tunes?

Just curious here. I've been playing with Cam Tunes for a while, and I cannot get a tune to play nicely with my JLT intake at all. The only scenario that has worked out for me thus far was with the stock intake on it. For this reason I'm really considering changing my CAI to the Roush CAI since it doesn't require a tune.

Regular non-cam idle has been absolutely perfect, but I'm constantly having stalling issues with my cam tunes. I'm just hoping to find out I'm not the only one. I guess in the end I'll just have to change my CAI or leave a non-cam idle tune programmed to the car.

change back to stock CAI, not like a CAI will make that much of a difference anyway. Its not worth all that trouble...

I had a Steeda cam idle tune installed briefly. I got over the coolness rather quickly and decided it wasn't worth the hassle of doing data logging and having Steeda try to tune out the poor driveability, which included stalling and erratic throttle response. If you're going to get a different CAI I sure wouldn't bother with Roush, which is basically the restrictive factory tubing with an exposed conical filter. I'd get a C&L which will give you 10+ rwhp in no-tune config. It is also on sale. At least it was last week.

It seems the stalling issue is just something you have to "deal with" if you wanna run the cam tune.

AED has quite the cult following on SVT Performance. You really need a proper tune to run the JLT. AED will do extensive remote data logging to ensure your car is right.

I just installed a Steeda CAI with the cam tune yesterday. I bumped up the idle speed by 100 rpm's to 750 rpm's and no stalling issue so far.

Mine stalls a lot on the AED tune, but we're looking at it. JLT carbon CAI, but I'm running a custom motor (roadrunner type with some extra compression).

I may try bumping the idle speed up as suggested above.

I had stalling problems with the steeds cam tune.
Tried the Bama one for free, no stalling anymore. IMO the bama one sounds alot better too

Cam idle tunes are just silly, all you are doing is interrupting a smooth correct idle/manipulating a poor erratic idle.

Want to sound cammed? Get a cam.

We have cams; 4 of them, to be precise. Oh, you meant big lift, long duration cams. My bad.

I actually did not ask for the cam tune when I ordered my tune from Steeda. I kinda like the big cam idle, but could take it or leave it.
